We've had (in no particular order)

Blue lights
Bright white lights
Icicle lights
Warmwhite lights
Tiny lights (I think they're 'rice lights' )

Pugs
Polar bears
Tartan with or without stags

I need to buy some new lights this year. Last year I got some of the battery op rice lights on wire to go in a big vase, but they're too fragile for the tree .

Is it still going to be warm white?
Maybe amber?
Are coloured lights ever making a comeback? Xmas Grin

I'm betting this year there will be Unicorns .......

Go with what you like. I have really ancient shaded coloured lights and wouldn't be without them. Plain lights just aren't Christmassy enough for me

I always like traditional, but when I was shopping for tree decorations they've got really bright coloured animals and things like that. It was quite nice. But I stuck to my red and green.

I've seen loads of Nutcracker soldiers and decorations in that rose bronze colour that was in all the shops this year. We don't need anything new but the DC always choose one, they went for little houses in glass domes that light up on 3 for 2 from M&S.

We have a real tree downstairs with silver and purple baubles, and then a fake tree upstairs, which has all my decorations that have been collected over the years from my childhood, plus tinsel and multicoloured lights!

We have a pile of random crap collected over the years, which my teenage DS wouldn't part with (half of it isn't even actual xmas decorations, just things like keyrings he liked as a much smaller child). It makes for a messy tree, which is exactly the way we like it.

We've got warm-white lights, which I am sticking with.

I think dauschunds (can't spell it- sausage dogs) are the "in" animal this year.

GherkinSnatch · 29/10/2017 13:10

Coloured lights (not LED unless specifically berry lights that just glow softly) are always in style chez Gherkin Grin

GherkinSnatch · 29/10/2017 13:11

Also yes RE: daschunds. Next had a decoupage effect one in their window when I walked past this morning.

Etymology23 · 29/10/2017 15:06

I agree with gherkin - coloured lights are also always in style chez nous!

PodgeBod · 29/10/2017 15:55

Gherkin yes I saw that yesterday as well, and a jumper in Tesco that said "dachshund through the snow" and I thought, ah so that is this years pug dog.
