Stocking fillers for men?

1stDinkyDecker · 24/10/2017 15:15

Any tips on stocking fillers?

So far I have christmas socks, chocolate, and some screwdriver thing:)

I've only ever had daughters so find men harder to buy for.

I got DH a stocking for christmas from DD past year.

I put in mini alcohol bottles, lego light up key ring, gloves, socks, chocs, gadgety things.

I'm struggling for some solid different ideas too this year.

Er....I'm struggling to remember other things I've got in the past! This year I am also popping in a small 'Charades' type game. I think I got it from B&M.

My standbys are:

Copy of a magazine like Private Eye/PC Gamer/ Cycling (obviously adjust to taste!) as it looks cute rolled up sticking out of the stocking and takes up some room

Lovely wool socks from Falke/ Injinji

Handkerchief/pocket squares-I’ve had some lovely ones from Etsy, Folksy and also from local craft fairs over the years- tbh I think if you’re crafty they must be easy enough to make and use fabric meaningful for the recipient.

Mini spirits

Fancy hot chocolate-Green and Blacks is great and maybe a mug or travel mug

Little Moleskine or Leuchturm notebook

Little game like Dobble

Depends on the size of your stocking but that tends to be more than enough for DH, DF, DFIL.

dunraven · 24/10/2017 23:17

Well, so far - it’s based on luxury food items that I can squeeze into the knitted stocking dating from DH’s first Christmas. Need to source a few more items and that’s it.

A bottle of Icelandic beer
Posh Jar of crackling
Macadamia Nuts
Annual Bar of Toblerone
Posh jar of Honey

tinytoucan · 24/10/2017 23:58

This year I am thinking of getting a Christmassy ale, a back scratcher (although I haven't found a good one yet!) and some mini fancy toiletries. Maybe some socks as that's always a winner!

singadream · 28/10/2017 00:01

Starbucks cats with a fiver on it
Lottery ticket
Nail clippers
£5 bet on the big horse race on Boxing Day
Socks
A silly magazine - I like to get dh viz or similar

BananaSandwichesEveryDay · 28/10/2017 00:16

I found a bear care set at a ridiculous price in a sale. It has beard shampoo, beard oil, scissors and a comb. I'm wrapping each item individually for the stocking. I might see if I can find a smallish wash bag to go with it.
Otherwise, chocolate, face cream, any small, hobby related items, One year I made an iou notebook for dh - just bought a small notebook and on each page wrote something like 'Chinese takeaway', 'DVD rental of dh choice', 'one week of me taking out the rubbish ', (normally dh job). I managed to come up with enough ideas that dh could claim one a week for almost the whole year. Most didn't involve money and apart from a meal out or takeaway, those that did were still inexpensive.

BananaSandwichesEveryDay · 28/10/2017 00:22

*beard, not bear.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 28/10/2017 05:28

A good book - I’ve bought infinite monkey cage, flicked through it, looks interesting.
