Aldi have kids dressing gowns for £5.99 online delivered free . Just ordered a couple Smile

Anyone any ideas for a 40th birthday present from the kids to dh? He has a wallet and watch and key rings galore. Already getting him a photobook and a specialist present. He likes golf, football, stone roses and Liam Gallagher type music, errr that's it .

Haudyerwheesht · 23/10/2017 22:54

Budget under £25 I'd say. For previous post.

Re fingerling dd ended up getting one with birthday money but I would have bought her one because she's asked for a hatchimal and that is just not ever going to happen.

rachrach2 · 23/10/2017 22:59

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but if you sign your children up to the playmobil birthday club they get sent a certificate/badge and a 20% off voucher which I have used for various presents! It’s one of my children’s birthdays soon too and apparently she’ll get a card.

DD1 (8) got NOW That's What I Call Pop last year and she has asked for a pop CD again this year. Are the NOW CD's my best option or is there anything better for her age? I was considering NOW That’s What I Call Sing unless anyone has a better suggestion.

bunbunny · 23/10/2017 23:44

Maya Asda currently have a 2 for £15 offer on quite a few of the Now that's what I call Music cds - quite recent ones that are selling separately for £12 or £13 so while the offer isn't quite making them half price, it's almost as good...

It includes Now that's What I call...

  • Drivetime
  • Summer Party 2017
  • Sing
-Reggae Party
  • Love
  • 70s
  • 20th Century
  • Driving Rock
  • Number 1 Hits
  • Classic Soul
  • Party Hits
  • Old Skool
  • R&B

They also have lots of CDs on 2 for £9

Another place to look out for cds if you don't mind second hand ones is poundland - if there are some artists that she likes that she's not sure about if she wants an album or not, or ones to try that you think she might like or some of the big albums that sold loads but the bands aren't quite as popular any more, but a good way for her to learn a few of the older songs. Needless to say the cds are all just a pound, and you can't guarantee what you get but if it's somewhere you can pop into on a regular basis you can soon pick up a decent collection of bits and bobs.

Anyone thinking of doing photo calendars for Christmas, Tesco Photo has got half price calendars and half price canvas prints offers on at the moment.

Calendars start at £5 - and if you have a tesco locally you can do collect in store which makes it a fair bit cheaper as often postage is several pounds on these things when you do them by post.

Canvas prints start from £11 I think.

I haven't used them for calendars but I have for photo books and I've seen the canvas prints they've done - all good.

Thanks Bunbunny, I'll pop into Asda tomorrow and have a look. Helpfully there is a Poundland right next door so I can look in there too. I don't think she has a particular artist in mind, it's just whatever they are doing in choir or dance club at the time (Robbie Williams, Ed Sheeran and Little Mix at the minute).

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 24/10/2017 01:11

Poundland/Dealz have lovely lockable diaries in three designs:fairy, unicorn, dog. I can't find them on the website but loads in store. They are going for £3.95 on ebay Looks big in my pic but only about 6" square.
They also have an embossed leather-feel diary that is surprisingly nice

Has anyone come across Lego or minecraft themed wrapping paper?

fraggle84 · 24/10/2017 07:17

I’m after some advice on micro scooters - we’ve got a maxi & mini deluxe coming from mil

Anyone know how tricky they are to build? I’ve got ms and struggled with my hands, wondering whether to ask my bil to build them before they bring them over?

Allhallowseve · 24/10/2017 07:21

@annwithnoe is there a promo code to get 50% off doesn’t show half price when I look.

I8toys · 24/10/2017 07:37

No 7 advent calendar out - go!

BuffyFairy · 24/10/2017 07:37

@fraggle84 they are not difficult to build and don't take long at all but it took a bit of force to put the handle into the base. You have to push a clip down and get it into the slot at the same time (maxi and mini). I haven't had the deluxe but have done the 3 in 1 and turned it into the mini after. I always set them up before and stick a bow on.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 24/10/2017 07:38

@BaBaBa me and DH got each other (totally unplanned) a canvas print for our cotton anniversary. I got him one of us on our wedding day and he got me one of DD :) you can get them pretty cheaply online.

RJnomore1 · 24/10/2017 07:40

L8 do you have a link for the no 7 advent please?

Doseydots · 24/10/2017 07:43

Found these on groupon, a good stocking filler for tweens.

Doseydots · 24/10/2017 07:44

There’s £1.99 postage fee

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2017 07:47

@Allhallowseve the code is: thanks

slimyslitheryslug · 24/10/2017 07:53

fraggle they're not tricky to build BUT they do have a knack and require a bit of force and will suddenly become surprisingly fiddly if you have DC who want them NOW and no doubt your hands will become uncooperative at that exact moment. We have always given scooters ready built & just put a large bow on the handle bars.

I8toys · 24/10/2017 07:55

Apols for the humungous link

fraggle84 · 24/10/2017 07:55

Thankyou I’ll ask if they can bring them over built up then
