Fingerlings

Has anyone seen one of these in action?
My 3yo has decided this is the present she wants this year. I've had a look a them in the shop and think they look a bit crap and possibly to old for her. I appreciate they probably aren't crap to a small child, and ultimately if that's what she wants and will make her happy it doesn't matter what I think!
My main concern is the age guide is 5+. Is this because they are too big to fit on a 3yo's finger, or just that she's too young to work it?
We have said she can choose 1 item she really wants for Xmas and there is still plenty of time to hope to influence another choice/manage expectations if necessary, but if that's the case it's better started early before she becomes utterly fixated!

It's 14.99 I think your extremely lucky this is what she wants not sure about them in action, I need to get two and my dd have very slender fingers as well. For the price maybe just get one? I think you could work round finger size if necessary by putting something round her finger.

My DD has one it is actually very sweet and not too annoying. My DD doesn't really play with it on her finger she keeps it on the bedside lamp.

I know LeavesinAutumn, I'm counting myself very lucky! She's had an Argos catalogue to look through, so could have really done some damage. She wanted a Hatchimal too but given a choice between that and the monkey, the monkey won. We're going to get those small Hatchimals for her stocking instead.

And 'not too annoying' sounds right up my street. I'm warming to the idea

If I want to know what a toy will be like before I buy it, I do a search on youtube. I searched fingerlings and did end up buying one after watching.

Thanks Glitter, that's an excellent idea. They actually come across much better in those videos than the TV advert. Seeing the girl handling it in the video makes me think DD1 would manage quite well.

I've been thinking of getting DD (who'll be nearly 6) a fingerling, but wasn't really sure what they actually did - hadn't thought about checking out you tube. Now I have and I'm wondering if I'm the only who thinks the fingerling holding a finger looks a bit...er...smutty?

Thread on her re hathcimal said rubbish, watched them hatch then that was it. I think hathcimal would have big wow but so expensive to be forgotten straight away after hatch.
I am going for fingerlings and the little live pets hatching chicken, far more affordable than hatch and I am going for enchantimals.

My daughter got 2 yesterday with a monkey bar set and swing for her 6th birthday. They are actually really cute, she blows them kisses and they kiss her back etc, so they are interactive too. They are bigger than I expected, but she uses the playset more than her finger. Hth

My daughter has one and I think it's really lovely

Both mine have them (ages 5 & 2) they interact and blow kisses and even break wind which has my two giggling away. They are good for the price I think.

Where will you get them?
