I love Christmas time, and love to hear what other communities do to celebrate! Our town has a few celebrations-

Christmas light switch - Santa comes down High Street in his sleigh sometimes with real reindeer!! Usually local choirs and pipe band perform at this.

Santa's Grotto - Community Group organise this (I help!!) Santa was on his sleigh and accompanied by local pipe band down to Grotto last year - it brought a wee tear to my eye. Although it is a cheaper Grotto, it is still amazing - people travel for 40 miles to come to it!!

Local primary and secondary schools Christmas fairs which are always lovely.

And my favourite Santa's Visits. Over December Santa along with his sleigh visits almost every street in the area. It's all lit up with Christmas music blaring, kids can go to speak to Santa and get a sweet from him. This has been going for years and I still get excited when I see the sleigh turn into our street!!

Anyone else got some nice local traditions to share?
