Hi I am loving reading threads about those of you that are cooking for 20 people etc and I guess sometimes people will bring food with them.

But. I struggle cooking a normal roast dinner for 6 and finding enough space or layers in the oven for roast potatoes, the mean amd parsnips. Any advice or tip?

I'm so excited about xmas!

I don't mind doing the cooking, Dora - in our house we have a fair division of labour - I cook, Dh does all the clearing up. I MUCH prefer it that way - I am a pretty messy cook.

I make my stuffing and pigs in blankets (best quality sausages cut into thirds and streaky bacon, two skewered on a cocktail stick) on Chr Eve, and boil up the turkey giblets ready for the gravy. Any guests will usually prep the veg, but we only ever have roast spuds and parsnips, carrots and sprouts. Too much faff IMO to do more.

After years of my dad cooking dinner his health is now not so good and I’ve taken over. I hadn’t realised it was woman’s work - yikes, realised how lucky I e been with my dad

Is it wrong that I love the idea of a heated trolley?

Heated trolleys mean you eat hot food 😋

Some formidable planners on here, crikey!

We did Christmas dinner once, utter disaster, DH managed to burn the mash cos he was pissed.

Never again.
