Hi,

My son will be 2 a few weeks after Christmas and I'm wanting to get him some type of bike for Christmas. Not sure what to type to go for at all really. When will he be ready for a bike with stabilisers? What would you recommend at the age of 2? Many thanks.

Yes you can buy the seat and O bar separately and just swap it for the full size handle which unclips

My tiny 2yo got the Pukylino at 21 months. It's not a balance bike as such, as it has four wheels and not a lot of balancing goes on, but they move it by the same principle and she loves it.

Normal small bike
take the pedals off for now
becomes a scuttle bike
balance starts to be good
put pedals back on
Two bikes for the price of one

We have a wishbone bike which starts as a trike and then converts to a balance bike that can be adjusted as they grow. He loved it as a trike, did go off it for a while when we converted it to a balance bike but is now whizzing around at great speed.

One of my kids has significant phyaical developmental delays but had a balance bike mastered around 3 and by 4.5 absolutely astounded the OT and physio we work with by riding a pedal bike without stabilizers on his first attempt.
I think the balance bike was the best toy we have bought
