I have to get something for my niece, who is 8. She has loads of toys and her mum is always saying she never plays with any toys any more.

I'm stumped. She has loads of jewellery, she loves Harry Potter and Star Wars but has loads of clothes/accessories from those ranges already. What can I get her for Christmas?

What's been your 8YO's favourite presents??

Mine is 9 and loves anything bath bomb related, play soap (from lush), nice smelling shower gels etc. Good pressies when they have too much stuff

My DD's favourite birthday present was a fit bit - you can get the cheapie versions for under £20.

Books? Look on book people or similar sites for a box set? (Can thoroughly recommend Pamela Butchart!)

Nice quality drawing things, eg good qulaity felt tips, a mega pack of sharpies?

anyoldname76 · 02/10/2017 21:24

how about one of those lego brickheads, you can get all sorts of characters

My 9 yo DD would love cool stationery. She also like handbags, purses and little gadgets.

My daughter has just turned 7 and loved her skateboard and remote control car! She's not really a girly girl though.

Thank you, some good suggestions here that I wouldn't have thought of.

Dds (9) best presents this year were her roller skates and smiggle rucksack both a bit above budget though. She got a teaching set for Christmas last year which I still see played with often, Lego sets, Harry Potter plimsolls (primark - luckily she's size 4 so I can get stuff from the adult range) designer friend doll from Argos (I thought she'd outgrown dolls but not these) and those nom num things. Is currently working her way through Mallory towers and how to train your dragon books.

Dd is 8 and really likes stationery stuff so a wee filofax set wouldn’t go down well. Or one of my fav gifts from around that age was a bag full of pens, glue, paper, scissors etc so maybe a craft box full of bits would go down well?
Pineapple clothing is also a hit here.

I came on to say stationery - DD is 8 and loves it. A nice writing set and pen maybe? Paperchase is good and not over-priced like Smiggle.

Hama beads are fantastic for 8 year olds , boys and girls .

Definitely the card game Sleeping Queens - perfect for an 8yo! My dd (recently turned 9) loves this game and has done since she was 6 or 7. Very appealing artwork, not too complicated and fun for all ages!

(My dd is buying this for her best friend's 9th birthday next week.)
