Ds is 12 and has asked for a scooter. Anyone know what the better ones are? I have no idea on makes. Ideally one that lasts and budget up to £100.

Thanks Grin

yes, all the oxelo ones are from decathlon. We have the Town 9 EFs. The bearings don't last forever so we've had to change a wheel on both but given the amount of use they've had with large adult sized teenagers, that is fair. They are both over 6 foot. (DS1 is over 6'3") and neither need to stoop either which is great.

Splendid, thanks so much-I'm delighted with the price too!

Looking into getting my 9yo a new scooter too. Are the MGP ones stunt scooters?

If you are looking at scooters, the stunt ones have small wheels, solid shaft for the handles and generally wider handlebar, they also allow the handles to spin 360 degrees. Get the wheels with the highest ABEC number you can afford as they will run smoother.

I think MGP are a brand name and not sure if they only sell stunt scooters or not as my boys were never really into them. If the scooter doesn't say it is for stunts, then look at the criteria I have given to check.

If it says it folds or adjusts then it's unlikely to be a stunt scooter. You also get dirt stunt ones which are for off-road stuff and have thick wheels and are heavier.
