Dd is really starting to show her persoanlity. She loves her dolls, pretends to feed them, loves her walker (not walking yet), books etc.

She will be 18 months at Xmas. I have NO idea what to get her. She has a shopping trolley. She doesn't really have much tbh, mostly books/wooden blocks/stacking rings. Husband only bought her wooden stuff last year so she doesn't have much musical things. 🙈 I want to get her some!

Help please x

My 17 month DD loves books, first and foremost, particularly simple flap ones such as Dear Zoo.

She also likes:
Stealing her older sister's dolls
Playing with blocks and duplo
Pushing prams (toy one and our own buggy), Kicking balls
Pushing buttons on toys and remote controls
Playing with shape sorters and stacking rings
Visiting farms and zoos. Cows, pigs, and elephants can do no wrong in her eyes!

we have a Vtec microphone stand for 22 month old DD which she loves. It encourages them to stand up and strengthen their legs as it has a chest height keyboard and plays music, also a baby einstein electric guitar, plays classical tunes when the buttons are pressed and they can dance along. If you want more advanced wooden toys a noahs ark with all the animals in it or a basic brio style train set are good choices which get played with regularly.

Little play houses with people and furniture. Ones they could just shout carry around.

Happy land was a firm favourite here. He's still playing with it at 3.5.

My 19 month old loves

Books - Dear zoo, where's spot, stickman, wow said the owl

Duplo - particularly the people and the animals
Happyland - she's suddenly discovered little people
Cars and her garage - she loves pushing around anything with wheels
Balls. And throwing them.

Based on your description, how about a pram, tea set, ikea kitchen?

Stompythedinosaur · 16/09/2017 01:08

Mine loved happyland, baby musical instruments like shakers and bells, plastic farm animals and dinosaurs, playdoh, lift the flap books (another book favorite was Gallop! By Rufus Seder) and a wheelybug. Also innumerable soft toys.

Ahh thank you everyone!

I'm thinking a garage, tea set and a pram. She has just started "looking after" her baby, she feeds it, tries to put her clothes on and covers it up lol. It's hilarious because I can't remember my other two being like this. My older daughter wasn't/isn't very girly, so I'm hoping dd is. I want to do the whole princess dresses and dollies! 🙈

Oh good idea with garage, that's on our list for both DDs this Christmas (eldest is three). Although DD2 does like to use garages as climbing frames, so will have to get a sturdy one...
