games console for a 7 year old

I think my DD would like one this year, although I'm now totally out of touch on what would be good for this age group. Was thinking of a Nintendo 3ds second hand on ebay - would that be a good present for this age?

My DD got a 3DS last year, she was 7. It was a big hit, her favourite games are Tomodachi Life and Animal Crossing.
