Visiting Santa after Christmas?

I've noticed that a few big attractions continue doing Santa's grotto after Christmas day up until new years day.

Would you do this?

No, I wouldn't do it even though my kids are too young to understand. Even though I love Christmas, when it's done it's done!

WreckTangled · 22/08/2017 20:02

I wouldn't.

Well actually if the real Lapland was much cheaper between Christmas and new year I would do it then Grin but not at the local garden centre!

SpanishFly · 22/08/2017 20:33

I wouldn't. I don't understand pantos that go on until after schools are back either.

By NY day I'm sick of looking at the tree as Xmas is well finished by then

It always seems a bit pointless after the day. To me I'd associate seeing Father Christmas to let him know what I wanted for Christmas.

We always go to the Panto New Year's Eve. We spend about £160 on our tickets but.my goodness it's worth it. We go every year and buy our tickets for the next year's Panto when we get home on New Year's Eve.

Once the Panto has finished, they release streamers, part poppers, glitter cannons and the whole cast get back on stage and everyone sings Auld Langs. We then go home and have a take away curry and watching the New Year in (I also open the front and back door to let the New Year in and the old year out!)

I've never really thought about it but it seems nice to take the dc to say "thank you" instead of "I want! I want!"

I'm sure they'd expect Santa to remember what he gave them though so that might be a bit suspect.

Cailleach666 · 23/08/2017 16:03

Auld Langs

I've never heard it called that.

Figgygal · 23/08/2017 16:04

Nope thats very odd how does it work? He's delivered the presents and now he's just hanging round? Offering more? Nah

Cailleach666 · 23/08/2017 16:23

Everyone knows Santa hangs up his boots for a well deserved rest once christmas eve is finished

Brittbugs80 · 23/08/2017 18:52

I've never heard it called that

Was in a rush when I replied, it's obviously Auld Lang Syne!

Oh sorry- I thought I was behind the times.
