Micro scooter Sprite or JD Bug

so, this Christmas is new scooter time for my DC. Toddler is getting a mini micro as DD loved hers.
now, DD will be 5 by Christmas and is insisting on a 2 wheeler in purple. The micro sprite is pretty pricey but would get it if it's far and away the best scooter.
Some have also suggested to me the JD Bug and I saw the junior street scooter for only 35 pounds....what are these like? Are they very inferior? Also, as she is oldest DC I'm not sure how important it is to have the micro from a social point of view or if they don't really care?

Literally every scooter in the playground at my daughters school is a Micro.....not sure if that matters but I also think they are the best. DD upgraded from the micro and the new one should last her til she no longer wants one so money well spent I think.

I got some other scooter and then got a micro again. The other scooter was a waste of money.

Both my DDs have Micro Sprites.
Both received them for their 5th birthdays.
DD1 is now 10.5 and still uses hers. DD2 is nearly 6 and loves hers too (she has the purple one lol)
We have found that the quality of the scooters is fab. And the ride is really smooth- and quiet! We wouldn't buy anything else now. I would recommend Micro 100%

Aw, nothing to add, and sorry for the partial hi-jack, but it sounds like some of you ladies have bought two-wheel scooter for five year olds - can i ask how they manage with these?

I started a thread asking about this a few days, and the consensus seemed to be that nobody below year1/2 has one. I don't, however, want to waste money on the Micro-maxi, only for DS to want a two wheeler in a year or two.

Thanks.

My DDs had 3-wheeled scooters from age 3.
Dd1 got on with it really well. Dd2, not so much.

Dd1 had her 2-wheeled micro sprite for her 5th bday (April of reception year) and DD2 got hers for her 5th bday (December of reception year).
Both took to the 2-wheeled scooters really well. In fact, DD2 found scooting much, much easier on her Sprite than she had on her 3-wheeled scooter.

Thanks everyone- looks like the micro scooter is reliable and good value so I think I'll go for that rather than have to change it again. I'll be well impressed if she's still using it when she is 10!!
