Christmas smells (air freshner!)

This is possibly quite dull but I love it when the 'winter' smells come out for candles and air freshners. I normally have glade but have recently switched to Airwick in my kitchen so have been waiting patiently!!

Noticed while shopping online yesterday that the winter smells are in, but even better I have acquired on my shop today 'festive pine' and 'mince pie' Grin.

#needtogetoutmore!

Proper Christmas smells! Not tried them yet, Hope they are not horrid!

IamChipmunk I just saw them by chance in dealz and grabbed them, probably left over from last year so they could make a proper appearance closer to Dec Smile

VivaJen · 20/08/2017 12:39

Not dull at all @IamChipmunk! I love festive scents, Love the plain Cinnamon from Yankee and I quite like the warmer foodie ones like Tarte Tatin and Gingerbread. I keep an eye out on Amazon because you can sometimes get large jars for about £13-£14. There is a website called Candles Direct (I think) that also does good reductions. I refuse to pay £23 for the large jar!

White Company "Winter" is also stunning.

Sprouts - Starbuck start selling their Pumpkin Spiced Lattes on the 1st of September!!!! For me that's Autumn officially here.

scrabbler3 · 20/08/2017 12:58

I like the spiced orange Scentsicles. They last for several weeks. I get mine from the local garden centre but Amazon stock them too.

shakemysilliesout · 20/08/2017 13:53

Hate the pine ones.

Love Christmas cookie and sparkling cinnamon.

My autumn smell is blissful autumn Yankee candle

BananaSandwichesEveryDay · 20/08/2017 19:00

When I took the Christmas tree down, the scentsicles still had a lot of scent left so I just laid them across the radiator and the warmth ensured we had the lovely smell for a good few weeks afterwards.

Trudee · 20/08/2017 19:41

B&Q have pine and spiced orange scentsicles reduced from £6 to £3 atm.
I just bought some pine ones for our artificial tree that goes in the dining room. I love the smell of the real tree we have in the living room so hoping to carry the smell through

ParadiseLaundry · 21/08/2017 08:49

Just looked up Scentsicles on Amazon. Shock how did I not know such amazing things existed?! Will definitely be purchasing some this year!

ConstantlyCooking · 21/08/2017 11:14

I really like the M&S mandarin and clove range for Christmas and usually stock up when they send a 20% off sparks offer. I have some Yankee melts that I am looking forward to trying now I finally have a melts warmer.

TwinkleTwinkleLittleEtoile · 21/08/2017 11:29

I usually get scented candles from Sainsburys. Can't remember the name, but they're red. A sort of berry scent. I used one a couple of months ago to try and mask the smell of a bonfire, and they made me think of Christmas.

DandelionAndBedrock · 21/08/2017 11:33

Another White Company Winter fan here.

Last year I had a Neom "Christmas Wish" that I picked up in the January sales (the year before) - it was alright but I ended up buying Winter as well.

I bonded with a lady in John Lewis a few years ago when we were smelling their winter candles - there was a truly vile one (smelled a bit vomitty) and a gorgeous one and I cannot for the life of me remember the names of either, so it's rather put me off ordering candles online!

ParadiseLaundry · 21/08/2017 13:28

Really intrigued by TWC Winter scent! I don't think I would be able to get to a shop to smell it but might chance it and just buy online, could anyone describe the fragrance for me please?

DandelionAndBedrock · 21/08/2017 13:40

Have you ever had Winter Pimm's? That is hard to describe because it tastes like Pimm's but...wintery. It's hard to pinpoint it - same for TWC Winter.

I think the best way I could describe it is to imagine the spices you would use in a mulled wine or cider - that level of depth/layers of scent. But not in a sickly way. I once had a guest arrive and say "ooh, have you been doing Christmas baking?" and I pointed at my new candle with a smug smile Grin.

ParadiseLaundry · 21/08/2017 15:27

Thanks Dandelion, that's a great description. And Winter Pimms?! That sounds great. Another amazing sounding thing I haven't heard of!

DandelionAndBedrock · 21/08/2017 15:52

Make it with warm apple juice. Thank me later Wink.

VivaJen · 21/08/2017 20:06

Winter Pimms is AMAZING!!! I love it so much more than mulled wine! We usually go to Birmingham for a weekend in December and at the Christmas Market there is always a stall that sells it - it's fab drinking it out in the cold. Sometimes you can pick up a reduced bottle in the supermarket in the summer.

Chocolateteabag · 22/08/2017 12:30

Oooohh Winter Pimms!!! And another vote for TWC Winter room fragrance

And I'm sitting in 38' heat now wishing it was Christmas Grin

IamChipmunk · 22/08/2017 14:14

Well I smelt the 'mince pie' and 'festive pine ' airwick smells today in Wilko but in the feed diffuser versions that have a scratch and sniff bit on. I wasn't impressed by either Confused Sad

I'm hoping they will be nicer in the freshmatic spray!!

IamChipmunk · 25/08/2017 18:27

Yankee Christmas cookie and yankee candy cane lane are my faves.

I have a white company winter candle but it's my last one and I don't want to burn it.

Yankee Snow in love is also a nice one.

I love candles

VivaJen · 28/08/2017 22:17

My neighbor does PartyLite and I've just ordered a couple of awesome Autumn ones. I actually think I like Autumn scents more than Christmas ones! 🍁
