Well after weeks of research by dh we have just purchased a Fraser Fir pre lit 7' tree in the July sales , any Balsam Hill owners about to tell me how lovely it's going to be and that I haven't just wasted £300 .

I love our Balsam Hill tree. It's not pre-lit, and I don't know what type it is, but it is great. My only reservation is that maybe it looks a little too perfect, as real trees are always a bit wonky or nobbly. It's been used for 2 years now, certainly no regrets.

Oooh , I'm scouting out a new tree this year , I had a look on the BH site but I have no idea which tree to go for (I need white lights/ 5'-5'6" which narrows it down)

The last real tree we had was maybe 8/9 years ago... and it was £50 , local garden centre so we all carried it home Xmas Grin
It was a bit uneven, some gappy bits but once the baubles were on and the branches dropped, the gaps filled in.

But if I bought one a year, I'd have spent £400+ by now......more than covers a BH tree IMO Xmas Wink

Enjoy your new Tree !

Look on www.werchristmas.co.uk where I got mine from. We've not built it yet to make sure it's OK, but DH seems to think it is!

BarchesterFlowers · 06/07/2017 06:41

My BH tree is about six or seven years old. It is fab. There is nothing too perfect looking about mine once the flowers household have finished with it 😂😂😂. Good investment I say.

Bearsinmotion · 06/07/2017 06:52

I bought a BH Norwegian Fir 🌲 for home about this time last year. I spent the next few months desperate to see it in all it's glory! Honestly, it was worth every penny! Beautiful, well designed, packed away neatly, I love it! ❤️

Floralnomad · 06/07/2017 07:21

I hope it's lovely when you get it up fluffy . Great to hear that people are happy with their BH trees , as pp said when you factor in how many years you will hopefully use it the price is not too bad .

I have a BH tree, it's a pre-lit narrow one. Love it, was one of my best Xmas investments!

NoWordForFluffy · 06/07/2017 07:41

I'm going to ask DH to put it up tonight once the kids are asleep (I'm working away, so instructing him remotely! 😂) so we can check it while we are still able to return it, Floral

I spent hours on the BH site though, it has to be said! They're lovely trees. 😁

You need to put it up and post a photo once it's up! 🎄

Floralnomad · 08/07/2017 23:31

Well it's arrived , dh will probably get it out and check the lights etc tomorrow but not do a proper 'fluff up' until Christmas , although I did say we could just stand it in the corner of the conservatory undressed until December . Did you put yours up to check it fluffy .

We were meant to do it last night, Floral but I got tied up icing a birthday cake for DH's brother. So hopefully we can do it today at some point (I'll keep the kids out of the way!).

NoWordForFluffy · 09/07/2017 20:24

Not the best photo (and we haven't fluffed the branches out; this was more about testing the lights!). But here is the tree!

I just bought one! They are gorgeous. Went for a Norwegian fir with lights Smile

GCHQMonitoring · 09/07/2017 22:54

I bought a half tree a few years ago. Lovely tree, hope you enjoy yours

Floralnomad · 09/07/2017 23:05

Never got round to doing it , will hopefully do it Monday or Tuesday evening .

I'm very excited about Christmas now...I foresee the tree going up a bit early! 😂🎄

Floralnomad · 10/07/2017 07:10

Yours looks like it has plenty of lights on it fluffy .

Used to dread the putting up the tree and getting lights strung round it. BH tree has changed all that, putting it up takes a couple of minutes maximum and then i have all the fun of hanging the decorations.

And it looks really great, too.

Fraid I cant remember which one we chose, though I remember I agonised for ages before selecting one. We have them at work, too, so I knew they would look good.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/07/2017 07:27

I think it said there's 800 on it! Some of the settings are a touch manic / migraine-inducing, but there's a few that we liked.

GinYummy · 10/07/2017 20:22

I can't wait for mine to arrive!

Floralnomad · 10/07/2017 20:51

Well it's just being put back in it's bag/ box and it is indeed very beautiful and will look spectacular fully dressed , although dh has already said that it will not be having any tinsel , which I've been trying to ban for years so win win . Im going to get it a skirt , but will enjoy looking for that once the Christmas stuff comes into the shops / garden centres .

I managed to persuade DH to have a look at their website yesterday, and he agreed to me buying one!! We had been talking about replacing the original fake we got almost 20 years ago, and he was happy to spend about €200 to get a good one (it was £219 in the end, so about €250 and I am paying). I think he was surprised I immediately jumped at his comment, and did mutter that I'd obviously looked at this website before (oh, only with longing for the past 3 years!!). But I am hopeful we'll get more decorations on this one than the old one, which was getting quite shook.

I will send the old one down to DMIL though, to sell at the car boot stall they run for charity, as it is still functional just getting a bit older and slightly bare.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/07/2017 14:05

Which one did you get, Buddy?

NoWordForFluffy · 17/07/2017 14:05

Biddy, even. Thanks, autocorrect!

BiddyPop · 17/07/2017 14:34

The red spruce slim - that's pre-lit, and still 37 inches across, so will well fill the space but the others were 4'+ wide, which seemed too much for our room. And the extra "sticky-outey" branches should make some of my nicer ornaments stand out a little more too! Xmas Grin

Don't worry, I like being a Buddy to people!!
