Hello, I'm guessing it'll be quiet on here now apart from the dedicated few!

So, I've planned to start early on Christmas 2017 so I could have all the handmade bits done by summer.

I want to make 20 cuddly toys (a mix of dragons, polar bears and seals)

Christmas cards for family

A mermaid tail blanket for DD

Scarves for DM, DMIL, DSIL and me

Some Christmas bunting for the hallway

3 Christmas cakes

Mincemeat / mince pies

I thought starting a thread here might be a good check list for me to keep track of where I am up to.

I have started my first dragon, he's 1/3 done and should be completed by new year's day. I just need to learn to crochet and sew now!

I'm a knitter too and about to start on some Baby Born Boy clothes for the dolls my nieces got at Christmas. If anybody is looking for some free patterns, this site is really good: www.knittingpatterncentral.com
It even has a Christmas section. Xmas Smile

I have started to read a How to crochet tutorial but it makes no sense Confused. Anyone else have that problem? May turn to youtube videos next. Bella Coco you say, Woolly? Will give it a go

Oohhh it's like the poncetastic thread only 9 months earlier. What fun...

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/01/2017 19:33

If anyone wanting to learn to crochet is in Northamptonshire/Leicestershire then I'm happy to meet somewhere like a Costa and try to explain it in person.

Will work for cake Grin

I won't be actually prepping until at least October.

But Inhave written a list.

Tree not to go up until at least the 21st

Ooh lots of people!

Well the dragon is almost done, unfortunately iive run out of green yarn so he's currently armless. Will pop out on friday for more.

Meanwhile, I'll start on my next polar bear.

I'm putting off crochet until my class at the endcendc pod the month as its all gobbledygook. Once I'm shoiwn I can pick it up quickly but I cant learn from books.

I've been practising mittens for small children... I can make a pair in two evenings so I'm thinking of making a load in preparation for next winter as a lady in a shop in town has said she would sell my knitting...

Nice mittens MooMoo!
I can knit but not crochet. I did try, brought all the hooks and everything. Sounds silly but I could never count the cast on stiches right. I always had at least one more than I should. Xmas Blush
