Can anyone else not sleep?

I'm as bad now as when I was a kid. Just so excited at the thought of waking up and rushing downstairs. Plus my mind is whirring with all the things I need to get done for dinner tomorrow morning.

Phone is obviously not helpful but I'm just so excited!

Can I join in?

Went to bed at 9 (10 week old DS doesn't like to sleep at night so 9 is actually late for me!), woken by DS1 (4) at 11. He finally went to sleep when I got up to feed DS2 at 2:30 and now I'm back downstairs with DS2 who is conked out on the sofa after he wouldn't settle. I am wide awake and the rest are snoring. Loudly. The trigger for one of them to wake up seems to be me nodding off so might as well stay awake! We're at my parents so I have plenty of babysitters for tomorrow when I can sneak off for a nap Xmas Wink.

Merry Christmas all! Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin

Kippers - it's never too early for Buck's Fizz. Tempted to have an early breakfast of Quality Street with a side of Roses if I'm honest. Christmas calories don't count, right?

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 25/12/2016 04:08

I went to bed at 12.30 and was up just before 4 feeling sick. Think I overdid it yesterday so hope I don't feel too ill today.

Eminybob · 25/12/2016 04:09

I woke up at 3.30, which is pretty normal for me.
I actually woke up thinking urgh no, I hope I can get some more sleep before I have to get up for work, then I remembered! It's Christmas!
Still hoping to get some more sleep before DS wakes up. I still hope to get some more sleep before morning but it's about 50/50 if I will or not.

Eminybob · 25/12/2016 04:11

Whoops looks like I defo need more sleep judging by my repetitive post!

ButtMuncher · 25/12/2016 04:15

I'm up as my 14w old son was wet through and my mind is racing. My 'D'P completely ruined Christmas yesterday by having a meltdown in front of the kids (stepson and son) and accusing me of being the reason. I've never felt more alone and sad, I'm just lying here trying to work out how I'll cope mentally with everything. I keep crying and feel so guilty to my beautiful son who deserves so much better Xmas Sad

myoriginal3 · 25/12/2016 04:21

I'm awake like an owl as usual. No little ones here, but she'll be on the old Skype whenever she deigns to arise. And I just fucking hope her present fits!

abbsisspartacus · 25/12/2016 04:23

I'm up too my three year old crashed out at four yesterday so it was a race to get the present's wrapped before he woke up he has now been awake since midnight eating food in my bed he is now watching top gear because jc usually sends him to sleep 💤 >not hopeful<

Buttmuncher Flowers

TaffetaMuttonfudge · 25/12/2016 04:24

ButtMuncher - don't blame yourself or listen to your DH. Life with a young baby is hard, give yourself a break. You are his world and it sounds like you're doing a fine job. Flowers

AnnaForbes · 25/12/2016 04:27

I'm wide awake. I waited forever to do the stockings and now I can't sleep. Dcs had better sleep late. Buttmuncher Sad I hope you enjoy your day despite all the crap. Flowers

ButtMuncher · 25/12/2016 04:35

Thank you xxx I've got to deal with the in laws first, who are fucked off with me because I didn't make my nephews party but made sure the boys were there with presents I bought and wrapped just so I could have a spare hour to myself. Nothing I do is ever good enough for them.

Then we go to my Mums, god I miss my Mum and just want a cuddle and a cry. But I've got to help cook - I might just get ridiculously drunk Xmas Grin

I'm so angry at my DP - he ruins so much with his instability but for fucks sake, ruining Christmas and upsetting the children is not excusable. I feel sick just looking at him.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 25/12/2016 04:35

If it's any consolation buttmuncher I argued with DH and nearly left countless times in DSs first year and we are one of the happiest couples and so compatible. I'm sure Christmas, new baby plus older child must be a lot. I hope you have a great Christmas Flowers

Dutchoma · 25/12/2016 04:38

Buttmuncher just sending some love and a handhold. I'm going to try and sleep a bit more before the alarm goes off at 6.40. Enjoy the day as much as you can, with your darling baby and son.

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 25/12/2016 04:38

Just read your new post. Sounds like a tough time. I hope you manage to have a great day

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 25/12/2016 04:48

Well, we were up with DS2 vomming from 11.30-12.30am. Were women by him at 4am with firehose runs. We are away at relatives & he's pooed in the first of his two clean PJ bottoms (sheer urgency, an accident). I've had to sponge his soiled thighs and bum down with dussolving wet loo roll and there's no nailbrush for my hands. There are some occasions when it woud be a whole lot easier to be home for Christmas with all your creature comforts & supplies to hand. This is one of them! Not sure whether my stomach churn is psychosomatic or whether I'm next. Confused

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 25/12/2016 04:49

Woken, not women...

OhHolyFuck · 25/12/2016 04:55

Yeah, I'm up.
Got backache so sat on the floor on my bedroom, ds2 in my bed and took ages to settle so want him to sleep as much as he can or he'll be a right grump today which means I'm having to be super quite and stealth like and can't get painkillers just yet

Need a wee too but that requires walking past ds1s bedroom who has bat hearing and will be up for the day if I do, hanging on for 7am as that's when their dad will be here to watch the present opening

abbsisspartacus · 25/12/2016 05:16

Jc didn't work he is leaning against me but not actually sleeping

MTWTFSS · 25/12/2016 05:34

Me!!! DH, DC1 (5.5) and DS2 (4) fast asleep lol but not me!!! Way too excited!!!

BellaGoth · 25/12/2016 05:37

I'm awake, woke at 4am which is when the baby normally wakes for her feed, but she didn't, and now I'm wide awake. DS will be through in about half an hour.

I am ridiculously excited. Grin

Flowers to those having a rough time this Christmas.

dementedma · 25/12/2016 05:39

I'm awake, and have been pretty much every hour so far.
Not excitement. Christmas Eve was pretty crap, kids seem too old for it all now and disinterested. No friends or family coming round today so just us. At then I feel so fucking ungrateful as the fridge is bursting with food, there, are lovely gifts u see the tree and I should be happy.
Think I'll work at a soup kitchen next year and do something more meaningful - and appreciated.

Badders123 · 25/12/2016 06:09

ds1 not feeling well....raised glands sore throat and feeling sick

flapjackfairy · 25/12/2016 07:28

Chelazla · 25/12/2016 07:29

I'm awake the children who haven't slept past 6 all year are not!😡 Hope everyone having a tough time is ok today x

Badders123 · 25/12/2016 07:42

Thank you!
I've got a chest infection and am not well anyway so this hasn't helped!
I'm back in bed for an hour til mum arrives
Might be Xmas dinner and not lunch today!!
