Usually it's roast potatoes, roast parsnips, roast carrots, mash or maybe colcannon or maybe savoy cabbage, sprouts, cheesy leeks and cauli or broccoli.

This year it's roasties, roast parsnips, roast carrots, buttery steamed carrots, cauli, sprouts, cheesy leeks, red cabbage with apple. We have a visiting veggie, hence the steamed carrots and will also do some non meat roasties too.

oooooh poltergoose ...swede and carrot mash sounds fab....i might do that instead of the steamed carrots and the mash.

I also forgot to say I have chestnuts to go with the sprouts.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/12/2016 20:28

Roast potatoes and parsnips
Plenty of sprouts and carrots. We like sprouts!

That's enough for me to cope with.

Bragadocia · 20/12/2016 20:31

Roast spuds
Roast parsnips
Steamed sprouts
Braised red cabbage, if you really must

This is all.

SharkBastard · 20/12/2016 20:35

Sprouts with chorizo
Maple roasted parsnips and carrots
Roast potatoes

That's it! No mash, no peas

SharkBastard · 20/12/2016 20:35

Definitely no peas, no mash, no new potatoes. Just no.

Roast potatoes
Roast parsnips and carrots with a honey glaze
Cauliflower and Broccoli cheese
Red cabbage with apple
Sprouts with chestnuts and bacon
Celeriac puree
Shallots braised under the beef

Notso · 20/12/2016 21:14

My favourites are
Roast potatoes,
Mashed potatoes,
Cauliflower cheese,
Roast parsnips,
Red cabbage,
Sprouts.

However DC all want roast carrots too, and DS1 likes broccoli not cauliflower and DS2 and 3 don't like any potatoes but love carrot and swede mash so I do all of it and sometimes peas too.

Never Yorkshire puddings though.

What everyone else says, (cauli/broccoli cheese, sprouts, roast potatoes/parsnips)

also leek gratin or leeks braised with apple juice.
