Keeping small xmas tree alive

I bought a small xmas tree in lidl in the hope that I can pot it up and keep it alive from year to year in the garden.

What are my chances?

We bought a potted tree last year and it's stayed alive for this year too. As long as it has roots there's a chance!

A small Asda tree I bought about 15 years ago and moved house with is thriving in my garden. The one from last year is too. The old one isn't massive, about 5 feet but it looks very happy.
