Are some scented candles better than others?

If I can't stand Yankee Candles, am I likely to feel the same way about all scented candles? What about Diptyque or Jo Malone?

And, if more expensive candles are much better, which one in particular do you recommend?

Thinking about a Christmas present for my Mum.

I've been given the White Company's Winter. It's very nice, a bit Xmassy but not over the top.

Don't know price.

I think candles with natural ingredients and good quality wax (not paraffin) are hugely different to cheaper versions.

I really like True Grace. Also Diptyque but bit beyond my price range.

Neom are lovely and have 20% off today.

Also hear good things about Isle of Skye. Bought one of their three wick candles recently but haven't used it yet.

Wood wick are good

I recently bought a candle from here
It's a million times nicer than Yankee candles, and hand made.
I don't know if they do mail order, but I can recommend them.

Thank you for the recommendations.

Neom are gorgeous and natural - and cheap in TKMaxx :-)

My fav are Slatkin from Bath and Body works but they dont deliver to UK. You can find them on ebay for £20 for the large 3 wick. I thinm woodwick are more mellow and not as sickly as Yankee, the fireside one is nice. Tx maxx do some nice candles, i also got a gingerbread one from home bargains which is gorgeous

Misters Candles are handmade by two blokes in their house. They are excellent quality and no nasties. They are on Facebook. I bought from them at a craft fair not so long back and I'm smitten.
