How do you display Christmas cards?

I have never found a good way to display cards - any stylish ideas that do not involve ribbon across rooms, between light fittings or hanging down from bannisters?
I'm one of those boring people that can't do busy, bright colours or tinsel. Decorations are soft white lights, soft gold, natural wood and clear glass. Tidy is a very hard concept for me but I really try at Christmas - all is calm and uncluttered. Am feeling guilt at the pile of cards I have yet to find a lovely home for.
Any ideas please before dh does something random with them?

Last year we hung some fairy lights on the wall and used little Christmas craft pegs that I bought in Tiger to peg the cards between the lights
It was an idea I saw on Pinterest.

I only have 5 cards this year, so they are just plonked on the windowsill for now.

I run ribbon up the stair bannister and peg them to that. It brightens up the stairwell without undermining the gentle greens in the sitting room.

I blu tack them to my double doors looks as I hate them sitting round cluttering the place.

We have very few despite having a child in primary. So they're just on window ledge, sideboard and mantlepiece.

I don't like them cluttering everywhere so we have used ribbons in doors and pegged them on before but this is what I have used this year as I already had it!

We've only had 2 this year, but normally I put up a big string across the room. Not sure it's worth it for 2.😁

I really should read properly. Ignore me.

divafever99 · 14/12/2016 09:55

I don't! I hate them they just clutter the place. I currently just have them in a pile on my kitchen table and they will be heading for the recycle bin on boxing day!

Thread between pins either corner of the chimney breast. Thread stays up all year, but as it's white thread it's largely invisible the rest of the year.

Lay a strip of tape sticky side up on the floor or dining table. Press cards slightly overlapping onto tape to create a strip of cards, leaving a few inches of tape clear at the top. Fold over the top of the tape on itself so the two sticky sides stick together. Pin the strip at the join of wall/ceiling or above the picture rail if you have one. No ribbon showing and just discrete pretty strips of cards hanging down. It's also good to use a bit of tape/bluetac to stock the cards shut or they can flap open which doesn't look very nice!

Thanks - some good ideas to get me thinking. I'm trying to keep everything uncluttered until after dd2's 21st party next week so may keep them in the drawer till then...
