I've 8 to cater for from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as I've still got to order food, get the house straight, write cards and buy some pressies. Please inspire me with what you plan to do over the three days. Thanks!

Tips for hosting:
Buy disposable cooking trays!!
Prep veg and stuffing in advance
Lay the table in advance
Takeaway christmas eve
Leftover meats and breads and pickles boxing day.

It's awful being in the kitchen all day. Do all you can in advance.

Start your deep clean now and maintain it.

Good luck op

As for us christmas eve I will prepare veg and pop in the fridge. Cook up one of the meat joints.
Enjoy the afternoon with some bubbles and relax. In the evening I will do a quick tidy up, order a takeaway then bed eventually. Taking the stocking in.

Christmas day we will open our stocking in bed and then get up to open gifts. After that we get dressed and my other half cooks breakfast while I lay the table. We drink champagne and make a fuss.
Then pop the joint in the oven on low. Spend the day watching films and eating snacks, getting a bit tipsy. Read to each other, dance together and all of that.
Serve dinner about 4 and enjoy. Much the same in the evening with desserts.
Boxing day here is basically second Christmas without gifts.

First year we haven't had a full house in a long time.
It's my favourite time of the year to spend with DP Xmas Smile

Hope you have a nice Christmas!

Christmas Eve we'll do village nativity then supper with full house of about 24. It will be, as always a gammon, a veggie tart, baked potatoes, homemade coleslaw, green salad and ice cream/ a pudding brought by friends. Then games like charades.
Christmas Day stockings in bed. Up DIY breakfast before church.
Drinks and nibbles with friends after church.
Home to sort meal. Lots made in advance as 18 to feed. Cauliflower cheese done and in freezer, red cabbage likewise. Bread sauce also. I roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips. Then just do sprouts and chestnuts in microwave.
Meal around 5 realistically as we don't get back from drinks until about 2.30. Then presents. Then bad TV. Skype calls to family elsewhere in world.
Boxing Day. Mainly preparing for drinks party. A walk, a hot tub, cooking canapés and making house look presentable for drinks party for about 80 -100 from 6pm. People are meant to leave at 8pm but some never do so a huge macaroni cheese gets popped in Aga for supper. Then dancing night away and someone plays piano for sing along session.
