I've bought mine a ticket to see her favourite musical.
I normally buy her wine and then practical presents (she lives somewhere cold and keeps horses so over the years it's been wellies, thick fleece, woolly hat, portable light. She doesn't like anything that doesn't have a use.

Can your DH get her something or at least help with a suggestion?

BrioLover · 13/12/2016 17:28

MIL is very glamorous so I have bought a Lancôme eye palette and some Cowshed hand cream. Last year DH found a beautiful scarf from the White Company.

Ilovewillow · 13/12/2016 17:38

A Cath Kidston bag with dogs on and a scarf with dogs on - she's dog mad as if you couldn't guess!!

QueenofallIsee · 13/12/2016 17:40

Joules faux fur hat and scarf in a teal colour, a beef box from our local farm, a make your own badge crafty kit from Kirsty Allsops range and a set of Burts Bees skin stuff

bigredfireengine · 13/12/2016 17:48

Wine and loo roll

chanie44 · 13/12/2016 17:55

I bought MIL a luggage tag and a cath kidston bag. She likes her holidays, so I thought she could use both when she goes away.

Despite putting a lot of thought into her presents, I'm not sure whether she will like them - I hope she does, but she is fussy.

Sweet FA

MrsHathaway · 13/12/2016 18:08

Nominally from DC, a jumper with "grandma to " on it; and a hamper of homemade tasty things.

Camomila · 13/12/2016 18:46

Nothing...DH is giving her a watch and a freebie necklace he got buying cologne and we'll sign all the card
(I do my side, he does his and we sign the cards from both of us)

I'm giving DM a broach and some Tibetan prayer flags for the garden.

NerrSnerr · 13/12/2016 18:49

I'm buying mine nothing. No idea what my husband is getting or got his mum. I'm getting my mum some local wine and probably some other local food and my step mum a garden ornament.

scrivette · 13/12/2016 18:51

MIL is getting a Ted Baker shopping bag

DM is getting slippers, Novelty socks and some silicone spatulas (not very exciting but what she wants!)

IAmALionTamer · 13/12/2016 18:57

A Radley handbag which was a bargain from the Bicester Village outlet.
She gets a handbag from us pretty much every year (has done for the last 4 or 5) and although she always seems to like them and use them, I always feel such pressure to get it right. I think she'll be really happy with this year's offering so am excited to give it to her

dietstartsmonday · 13/12/2016 19:08

Thanks all. DH would normally do it but due to new job working nights I am doing all this year while he tries to get a routine.
He has no ideas either.
Handbag is a good one I may go for that

Hand warmer from M&S.

missm0use · 13/12/2016 19:15

I've bought her a scarf, candles and a perfume that I know she likes. We're also buying her a printer as she complains mentions every time we see her that she has no way to print things at her home and either has to email them to a friend or wait until she visits us. Grin

BaggyCheeks · 13/12/2016 19:24

Mine is getting a no7 protect and perfect set she's been hinting about and some posh teabags that she loves but never buys herself.

drinkyourmilk · 13/12/2016 19:26

I got mine a voucher for a family photoshoot plus some prints. She's a nightmare to buy for, but adores her family so I think it will go down well.

MuppetsChristmasCarol · 13/12/2016 19:33

Theatre tickets, slippers, earrings and a photo album of DC.

llangennith · 13/12/2016 19:35

Hope my DIL is reading these!
Some great ideas. I think she's getting me a silk pillow slip so I'll be very happy with my presentSmile
