I haven't a clue!!! DP asked me the other night and I haven't even thought about it, been just thinking on family. Grin

I am totally blank. Haven't really been shopping as I had an accident earlier this year so not really been walking around the shops.

Give me some ideas of what you are hoping for, please??

Maybe it'll give me an a-ha moment!

I'm getting perfume, some lovely knee length brown boots and a jumper that I've been lusting after from French Connection. How about some luxuries you might otherwise not buy for yourself? Cozy slippers, a nice scented candle, luxury bath oil?

SatsukiKusakabe · 08/12/2016 15:24

A kindle Paperwhite and case for it. My current one is near,y 6 years old and on the blink and I've been waiting for a while to upgrade it.

A nice little stack of new real books.

A new woolly hat and gloves.

SatsukiKusakabe · 08/12/2016 15:26

Oh and some plain gold hoop earrings, but I don't think I'll get those!

Tootsiepops · 08/12/2016 15:31

Expensive shampoo and gift vouchers for a digital perm, Swarovski earrings, Estée Lauder night cream, champagne at the top of the shard.

And a car.

I think I might be spoiled.

SatsukiKusakabe · 08/12/2016 15:35

What is a digital perm? Do they perm your fingers? Grin

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 08/12/2016 15:41

You're on my level ladies...keep going...

Was thinking how I'd lost my nice gloves the other day.

And maybe some Take the Day off make up remover that I love but can't buy at the moment. (Huge lawyer bill hideous ongoing divorce costs). My perfume has run out too.....(ponders)

I get a lot of joy out of cookery books but I am out of touch with what's newly available...

I'm curious about the digital perm now too!!!

Are the hairdressers the guys from DaftPunk? Grin

I'd quite like a new cookery book but don't know what I'm looking for either, interested if you get some knowledgeable replies to that one.

Chocolateteabag · 08/12/2016 17:30

I have asked for "Pimp my Rice" as it looks different and has rice recipes from all over the place - I'm a rubbish cook mind!

Also asked for slippers, pjs type stuff and I never get disappointed with a White Company smelly candle (20% off codes all over the place)

Plus Hotel Chocolat choc and of course I neeeeeed a walnut whip in my stocking and a chocolate orange Grin

Viewofhedges · 08/12/2016 17:38

Rucksack
Earmuffs
New watch

I'm really excited actually, it's only been really this week that I've realised that life will be better with these things in it!

I am also getting a cactus pin cushion from my MIL which I bought myself from a craft fair and DH will wrap as a 'surprise' from MIL because a) it is the only decent thing I have ever seen at a craft fair and b) because she loves craft fairs but always buys shittinglyawful things which are very well meant but she gave me a felt hat last year for god's sake. So this year she Does Not Get To Choose. breathes into paper bag

SatsukiKusakabe · 08/12/2016 17:46

viewofhedges I think you're right, Christmas should be about things that enhance your life.

Tootsiepops · 08/12/2016 17:52

A digital perm just puts v soft waves through your hair in a way traditional perms make you look like Kevin Keegan can't.

SatsukiKusakabe · 08/12/2016 18:08

They do look nice - I have naturally frizzy wavy hair so am always trying to straighten the shit out of it Smile

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 08/12/2016 18:28

I like the sound of the Pimp my Rice book.

I tend to stick to plain boiled, jambalaya and risottos so that could be a nice addition.

A book
Clarins handcream - lovely and feels like a real treat as quite expensive for handcream

And that's it. I'd rather just have a couple of small things i really want. Otherwise you just think of / buy stuff you don't REALLY want.

Nearlyadoctor · 09/12/2016 07:15

I've asked for:

New pj's
Hilary Mantel Wolf Hall book - would then like to hibernate through Jan and Feb to read it!
Victoria book ( can't remember the author but it's the one the recent series was based on)
Cashmere wrist warmers
Chanel Coco Noir
Jamie Oliver Family superfood book
Nice candle
Molton Brown Oud and Accord bubble bath

DF will buy the perfume and I've already got the pj's and given them to DH to wrap so I'm half way thereGrin - oh and DM is bugging me some Classic 11 mini uggs.

Nearlyadoctor · 09/12/2016 07:16

Buying even!

NotStoppedAllDay · 09/12/2016 09:06

I'd quite like a new watch...

Also

Adidas running gear....plain black with the white stripes and a matching cap!

Candles....any and all

Mac makeup

Race entries into half marathons, that would be really nice as the costs mount up!

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 10/12/2016 08:47

Do you think it would be ok to ask if he could pay for something that I usually buy myself but can't afford it this year? Blush

The situation being that I had two huge legal bills to pay for this month in regards to my divorce, so I'll be struggling to pay to get my roots done or get a wax this month.

Would it be cheeky to ask him to pay for one of those treatments do you think?

OP posts:
Ineedmorelemonpledge · 10/12/2016 08:48

Just out of curiosity, when you ask for make up, candles etc does your DP buy personally, do you go together or does he give you money???

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 10/12/2016 20:24

DH and I have two accounts - we have a joint one which his wages are paid into (I work part time and he earns 3 times more than me) and all our bills, food shopping and mortgage etc go out of that one. My wages are paid into my own account which I use for extras, kids clothes, clubs, activities, occasional nights out and 'leisure' money (it's not much). DH buys my present out of the joint account so it's an extra thing for me I usually wouldn't treat myself to. Depends on how you share money etc really - I buy his present with money from my own account.

Ellapaella · 10/12/2016 20:25

And in regards to perfume and candles etc I tell him what bands I like and he goes to buy them or gets them online. He usually gets me a little surprise that he chooses for me as well.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 11/12/2016 09:16

One of the best presents I ever had from Dh was some house boots from Celtic Sheepskin - Ugg type but with lighter soles for indoors, although you can wear them outdoors. Sort of super-slippers.
I'm on my 2nd pair and live in them all winter while at home.
Mind you I had to leave the catalogue on his desk with size and style clearly circled.

I love Celtic boots - and they're made in the U.K. from home grown Sheepskin.

n0ne · 11/12/2016 09:21

I want a KitchenAid Chopper, a microplane grater, earrings (I've only recently started wearing them again after 20 years), La Roche Posay Effaclar stuff (thanks to mn), a posh black scarf, vouchers for clothes/cinema/museums, but most of all a 23and me DNA testing kit Grin
