I have 2 girls v close in age. Dd1 likes games, dolls and playing with stuff. Had loads of ideas on her list and has most of them.

Dd2 likes reading, watching tv and electronic pet things. She's not a dolls/figures person really but I thought she'd asked for a monsters high doll which I bought. Turns out I massively misunderstood and she really doesn't want it. She's not being bratty at all btw, my misunderstanding.

She's much more easy going than her sister, had a much smaller list and had to be coaxed into thinking of those. Her presents are smaller than her sister and she has one less (which she will notice). The doll was meant to even it all up :(. The same thing happened last year too which is why I really don't want her to be hard done by.

So the doll is going to her sister for birthday in a couple of months but I still need to get her something. What on earth can we get?

She has a bootsie cat for her big pressie so this needs to be about in the 20 quid range. She loves spooky stuff and is a pink refusenik. She has loads of the pet things include bootsie so something a bit different. My dad has got her a spooky science kit so nothing like that. Any ideas? She's almost 7 btw.

I'm quite pleased with getting my daughter a microscope (she switches between being interested in bugs and planets and stuff, but Is getting influenced towards pink shit too. So have compromised with this, to dilute the pink barbie car 😊) there is a range available depending on age and budget . Problem being I have hidden it too well. ...

Subscription to whizz pop bang magazine? (Look at their Facebook page - they even do a special box to open with it)
Microscope?
Rubix cube?
Basic camera?

What about something for outside, like a hula hoop, stilts or a pogo stick?

Or a set of books. Something like Horrid Henry, Worst Witch, Mr Gum etc.

PhyllisWig · 07/12/2016 22:14

Ohhhhhh. That's an idea, thank you. Am off to take a look

I was going to say microscope too! Or there are some nice build your own robot kits on Amazon, from about £10 up. I particularly liked the remote control spider, and have got one for one of my dgd's.

Butterymuffin · 07/12/2016 22:25

The Bob: No Ordinary Cat book (it's the children's version of A Streetcat Named Bob)? Perhaps wrapped with some other animal/spooky books up to around £20, but then the no of presents for each would be the same?

PhyllisWig · 07/12/2016 22:26

She has a remote control spider. In fact she had 2 with another on its way from grandma. Horrid child!

I think microscope or pogo stick sound like winners. Have set dh on research mode, thanks so much all.

They have some lovely science type things in the entertainer. Would she like lego or one of those 3d puzzles?

OSETmum · 08/12/2016 15:27

If she likes reading and spooky thing, how about the Oliver Moon set of books from the book people? DS (7) loves them and is currently reading about 3/4 of a book every night!

SatsukiKusakabe · 08/12/2016 15:38

Good age to start getting serious about Lego? I'm always pushing them on here but the Elves sets are lovely.

Lucienandjean · 08/12/2016 15:51

How about a magic set?that went down well with my dd at about this age.

CurlyMango · 08/12/2016 17:47

A Zooma electronic remote control let?

CurlyMango · 08/12/2016 17:48

PET not let

Thank you for extra ideas - she loves Lego and has an elves set on its way. I have gone for the pogo stick - managed to find a purple one for less than 20 quid which was a bargain. However it's her birthday next month so will keep all these ideas, thanks v much
