Aftershave

Hello everyone,

Dh has asked for a new aftershave for Christmas but as I can barely smell, I was hoping for some suggestions of nice ones?

Was about to post this exact thread myself and thought I'd saved myself some time when I saw your post in my search results. But alas, no one replied!

So I'll share my research culled from advance searching for ideas here in case you're still after suggestions!

A miniatures set seemed to be the main suggestion for people who weren't sure what the recipient would like / couldn't decide.

The Vivabox from the perfume shop is £40, has 7 small samples and a voucher for a full size bottle of whichever of the 7 the recipient likes best (only available in store at the perfume shop, not online). I can't find any info on what aftershaves are included in this years box though.

I found that Boots do the same thing, also for £40 and their box has Versace Eros, Boss The Scent, Paco Rabanne Black XS, Lacoste L12:12 Blanc and L'eau de Issey Miyake in it this year.

I also found The Perfume Society do a selection of miniatures for £19, but no voucher for a full size one and the range seems to be (to my incredibly uneducated eyes anyway) a bit less "big name" type brands.

Boots also have a Fragrance Finder, that you can put in what your husband/whoever already wears and it suggests similar fragrances (or you can choose by personality... there are three options though so that's a bit more limited).

My DP wears Tommy and has done since his teens, so is looking for a change, but not too dramatic a change, I think! Issey Miyake L'eau d'Issey pour homme has come up as an alternative a few times when I've been researching so I'm going to go and give that a sniff in Boots tomorrow I think!

I've bought DH a new one - sauvage by Dior. It's lovely!

Next do some lovely ones that aren't too pricey, so you could mix and match! My DH likes them for work as they're not too strong but pleasant

Anything by Pecksniffs is fabulous, a bottle for around £45.00. Occasionally TK Maxx have sets of aftershave, shower gel and soap for around the twenty quid mark. It's gorgeous stuff and a bit less mainstream than others.

I just bought invictus by paco rabanne for dh for Christmas - sniffed it, liked it, bought it! There was one particular one I kept smelling on the train but didn't know what it was and after a while they all started smelling the same. The invictus one stood out as slightly different and that's why I went with it.
