Microbit?

My 9yo DD has really enjoyed using microbits in school and it's really sparked her imagination. I know she would love one at home but having had a browse I am on the wiser. Is the micro bit go the best bet for a starter? Do we need a laptop? She will have an iPad mini 2, would it work with that? If so what cable would it need (hdmi to lightning?)? I literally have no clue what I should be after or looking for so any advice greatly appreciated!

We opted for the go, I think the difference is it comes with the battery pack and can therefore be used without being plugged in to the computer. I think you can buy the battery packs separately, but it made more sense to get the go.

It looks like you can programme it from an iPad, although it's to something I've tried. www.microbit.co.uk/mobile

Fantastic thank you, I will have to read up on them more so I can help her as I have no idea, but she thinks they're great. I'm happy to twitch on this as I think it's something all children should be learning Xmas Smile
