I have after many years of waiting finally got an outside socket with outside Christmas lights in mind! Very excited but I now have no idea of what I want!! Any inspiration out there??! Thanks !

We've got soft white lights across the front of our house which can be set to stay on constantly, flash on and off or 'twinkle'.

A house near us has a lovely mummy & baby reindeer on their lawn and our next-door-neighbours have a snowman on their lawn.

Why not go to your local garden centre and see what they've got? The garden centres round here have good displays of lots of lights.

Please... nothing that flashes insanely, nothing where the lights move like they are dripping and definitely none of those piercing blue ones!

Sorry, I find loads of outdoor lights really annoying and distracting! I quite like ones in the style of old fashioned lanterns, just strung across the house. Simple white stars look nice. I think less is definitely more. But agree with above, go and have a look at what is available

I have a row of the white icicle ones that hang from the guttering, they look really pretty. I've also got some small (about 10" high) light up Santas that go in front of each window (3 each side).

To H's annoyance great delight (as it's his job) I've also bought this year some stand up star lights to go up each side of the path and 2 reindeer to join the santas under the window Grin

I absolutely LOVE outdoor lights. I'd go proper OTT (think those families that it takes them a month to put all their lights up) if I had my way!

We have lovely set from Costco. They are coloured and slowly change colour. They were about £30
