Hot wheels

Do you think hot wheels cars and track are appropriate for a four year old? He saw an advert for them and got all excited. Never played with them myself so can't decide. Are they quite small, maybe better for a 6-8 year old?

He'll love it it if my boys are anything to do by.

I hate it though - expensive for what it is, you build it once and never again, and kids do lose interest. Once dismantled you never get it back together again the way it was, parts get lost, the instructions are nowhere to be found...
Also, the noise drives me bonkers, but that's maybe only me.

Buy it, I'm sure he'll love it. I think 4 is old enough.

The best one we had was a very simple one that attached to the table top and had a long track down, no battery powered parts. Cars shot off that rather steep ramp like greased lightening! I liked that one - may have been a HotWheels copy, mind.

Get the basic builders set not the fancy sets and add to it with individual bits for the most play value. Then you can make a different track every time. My ds is obsessed with it and he's only 2.5 so 4 is fine. We play with it almost daily.

Ooooh top tips, thanks both of you. Smile
