Hexbug starter set?

Looking at getting almost 5 year old a hexbug set for Christmas. Is he too young and if not, where to start?

My 6 year old has just got into them. He only has the Hexbug nanos at the moment, no play sets or anything. He bought them with his pocket money and likes to make things for them to go in from stuff from around the house, loo roll tubes and carboard boxes . He hasn't seemed bothered until now for a proper set but has asked for the "Black Hole" for Christmas.

I'd say 5 is about right. Ds had hexbugs a few years ago, probably around 4-6/7 years old. He had a normal set and then they bought out the ones that could climb so had a set of those too. He loved them. A couple of the bits of track got broken though as he found them quite tricky to put them together by himself and broke them in his frustration to get them apart.

Thanks, I might get him a couple of the nano bugs then and if he takes to it he can get a set for his birthday. It does look like the type of thing he would like
