It's defo cheaper to book a week ski holiday (without the ski!) but if you have school age children it's not always possible to fit it in before Xmas. We paid £2200 for the following - family of four 16ty December
4 days in Saariselka
B&B
All clothing
Santa day inc tasters in husky, reindeer, snowmobiles, mini skidoos, Lapland ceremony, snowmobile sled ride to Santas cabin, lunch
Gala meal on last night with Xmas meal and crackers etc followed by fireworks
Booking as s Santa package allows for added extras which you balance against the dearer cost-
Santa flight - games and kids singing carols on the plane, plane staff discussing Santa, all wearing Santa hats, Christmas themed meal on plane, Christmas colouring books given out etc
Met at airport by elf and reindeer. Your allocated an elf who is your contact throughout the trip, very authentic as all Santas staff are Finnish
Lapland certificates and reindeer driving licences given out.
We paid extra for a local excursion on the huskys (not included - we paid £400 for a 2 hour trip with a local provider)
If I was to go again I'd book separately but for first time in not sure as you do get a lot more Santa stuff if booking as a Santa package. On our way to the airport for home we were met by several elves sitting on a sign post waving - 10 miles from resort!
