Also if you go on the Nintendo uk shop website they have a Pokémon go watch which is currently out of stock, maybe they'll get some more in before Christmas.

There's loads of merchandise out there, loads. Amazon is a good place to look.

• What's his favourite Pokemon? You can buy plushies of pretty much all of them.

• Pokemon cards, and something to store them in.

• There are two new Pokemon DS games coming out in a couple of weeks. Sun and Moon.

• I was browsing Amazon and spotted Pokemon Gym badges, comes in a little presentation box, they had sets from each generation. That might be a nice stocking filler.

• there's a Pokemon Go guidebook too, I think I saw it in sainsburys.

• Stationary, pencil cases etc

My 9yo wears his Pokémon Go Team t-shirt and hat pretty much constantly.

A power bank to charge his phone when he is out and the batteries run out.

It might not look exciting, but a £10 GooglePlay (or iTunes) voucher goes a looooong way in terms of boosting game supplies (incubators, pokeballs, lucky eggs and the like). Portable phone charger is very useful. PokemonGo Plus gadget - if you can get it at a reasonable price - is definitely a 'wow' PokemonGo gift and will be popular with friends.
