Train to go around the tree

I after a little train to go around the Christmas tree think they look cute. Asda have one for £30 is it any good or does anyone have any recommendations? Don't want to spend a fortune but don't want it too plasticky either. Thanks

Does the train need to be electronic? If not you could look at Tesco wooden train set.

I was thinking of the electronic christmas ones. We have a normal wooden train set bit it's a bit small

does anyone know of a nice battery operated Christmas train that runs on brio type wooden track? I don't really want to have to buy a whole new set as we have tons and It's all DS wants to play with so it makes sense to just add to his collection rather than start from scratch...

Brio do battery operated engines. They eat batteries though. You can get rechargable ones, which would probably be worth the extra cost. They probably would cost around £20, maybe more. They sometimes have headlights as well. They are a little bit noisy because they make "realistic" train sounds the whole time. Maybe you can get ones that don't do that...

Lidl have done cheap ones in the past, but they sell out fast.

You just get the engine, then you can attach your existing trucks to it. If you can afford it, getting two engines would mean it could pull a longer train, and would manage going over a bridge etc.
