Amazon prime???

I notice quite a few of you use Amazon Prime. I have just started a 30 day trial (so I could get some last minute birthday gifts delivered today) but it seems like it could be a pretty good investment.
Can I ask, if you use it, do you find it is worth the £79 annual fee and if yes, why? Tia. x

If you have a student/university email address you can get it for half price with 6 months free (I usually use the free trial then cancel tbh)

You get Amazon Video too, maybe if we weren't avid Netflix junkies we would swap.

We used ours lots until they switched to using royal mail signed for delivery, which is still next day, but they won't leave a parcel in a safe place so I end up driving to the depot anyway.

We already have Netflix and Now TV - who we wont be keeping after they removed the kids channels but don't get me started on that!! So I guess that makes it less worth it.

We've had it for the last year for Tv. And hate it. I find it so un-user friendly, very difficult to navigate, confusing headings, and stuff you get charged for at random like some old kids stuff. Won't renew and will go back to Netflix, much better IMO. Parcel delivery handy though!

Never use the telly but it's worth it for the 1 day delivery. Although the delivery guys are the most aggressive door-knockers I've ever encountered. They must have difficult targets to meet. If I haven't answered the door within 3 seconds they are already knocking on my neighbour's door!

Defo, worth it, used to pay whole fee, but then my daughter piped up, do you want me to get you my student discount for Amazon prime mum?

I order from them all the time though, prob about twice a week, and she used them too. The one day delivery is very reliable.

I got it last year for 20quid less but will renew it this year for the full price. Amazon video is crap in my opinion. The library is not really big for children, DD hardly finds something to watch and DH and I are not big on TV anyway.

I use it for deliveries and that you get GBP1 kindle voucher if you don't choose next day delivery. I am sure over the last 11 months I most of the fee back as I get lots of books. There also do some Prime-only savings, I replaced my kindle with 20% off and got DD a Evie doll for 7 instead of 18.

We buy a lot via Amazon as I don't find the time to go shopping physically, so for us it is worth it. The next day delivery is handy but be aware, some items are not covered.

I've had it for a couple of years now, and love it. The 1 day delivery is good, I store all my photos on the Amazon cloud, there's Prime video and Prime music, and special offers that I have yet to take advantage of. Oh, and access to Amazon pantry too. This year there have been 2 occasions on which my next day delivery didn't turn up on time, and both times they extended my Prime membership by a month, so it's even more worth it now :)

I have prime but don't use the movie thing that it comes with. I find it very useful for next day delivery on things you are very short of like baby wipes etc.

The delivery has gone up dramatically for things if you dont have prime. Also you can add many bank cards on your account and deliver to many address so my family ask me to use my account for things they want on the prime and i use their card to pay for it and get it delivered to their address.

Do you know if they'll discount it again pre Black Friday? Signed up last year and love it but would rather pay £20 less!

I have it; the TV is good, selection of free films is not great, I do like the music a lot though.I think it's worth it for the free one day delivery and the music.

We accidentally signed up! Ended up being very good value for money and we've not even started our Christmas shopping yet! When you're looking at £2/3/4 a time for delivery and ordering regularly it very quickly pays for itself. We order weekly so have saved a fortune in postage costs.

I use it a lot, I like to think I get my money's worth, especially now with the kindle credit you get for not using next day delivery.

The TV is no where near as good as Netflix, but you can download things from it which comes in useful. If we have a long journey to go on I normally download a couple of movies and some TV episodes for DD to watch.

I got it using my Uni ID so £39, use it loads for the delivery (slightly freaked out when my first order on Prime was done at 9pm on Saturday and there was a knock at the door at 10am on Sunday!). Use the music a fair bit as well, hardly use the video - as others say, the navigation is awful.

All of my orders come via Amazon Logistics and you can give instructions as to which neighbours you prefer parcels to be left with.

I use it. The boys rarely watch terrestial TV but do enjoy the power rangers etc on Amazon. We don't have netflix and are quite content with the videos on Amazon. I listen to a lot of free music on Amazon whilst in work. I rarely however use the next day delivery - but get a £1 back each time to spend on videos/free kindle books etc. But if I do need next day delivery it is there as an option.

I use it because I have a kindle too and can borrow books rather than buy them (not all books admittedly but enough to drastically reduce my previous £50 ish per month spend). I also use the video service and find it has different stuff on to netflix (I now have both).

Oh forgot about the music. That is brilliant too.

I couldn't live without it. It has saved me from so many disasters.

The warehouse deals are AMAZING as well. I've sorted Christmas this year just by buying warehouse.

We pay it monthly (£7.99) as it was easier for us than a big upfront cost. I would say it's definitely worth it. We use prime video a lot, I especially like that episodes/movies can be downloaded to watch without a WiFi connection. Can't fault the delivery either and it's certainly paid for itself since we got same-day available in our area.

I pay at student rate, not sure I would pay full price.

Tv is only worth it for walking dead and (soon) top gear. Netflix 1000x better.

But if you don't have Prime don't you need £20 worth of stuff to get free postage now? I'm always buying bits and bobs for less than £20 so maybe it is worth it. If postage was still free like it used to be then I don't think it would be worth it.

I love it. Dd watches amazon video on iPad. I get free next day delivery, which is great. Love the music. Quite often new releases are straight on there. Saves clogging up storage on my iPhone etc. Depends what you're into I suppose.

We took it out last week in time for Top Gear, just the pay monthly £7.99 option so it could be cancelled when the series finishes but I might end up keeping it on as the music is good and we tried the next day delivery last weekend, ordering with seconds to spare before the cut off point on Saturday night, and the item was delivered on Sunday morning.

I love it and use it all the time. Getting things the next day is amazingly handy.

But undoubtedly I do buy a hell of a lot more from Amazon than I ever would otherwise. I just think 'free next day delivery' and got to Amazon automatically. So I guess as a result
I spend a lot more with Amazon than I otherwise would!

I got an email from them saying that in the last year I'd saved £80 on delivery charges, obviously excluding the cost of Prime (ie 180 total).

Dp has it and now so do I (didn't realise we didn't need our own ones!). It's fine, I don't watch anything via it, or use Amazon music or anything, literally use it for shopping. I did notice the other day while shopping in a hurry, that all the transformer figures that were available for prime next day delivery were more expensive, which feels like I'm effectively being charged twice for fast delivery, but I like having it as I always leave everything until the last minute so I have a back up plan!

I signed up for it accidentely last week, (so annoying but I cancelled it straight away as it is useless to me living on a Uk island as I wouldnt get next day delivery anyway ). But I still have the months free trial which is ok because it will mean I can get all my xmas stuff delivered free and each order means I get a £1 on my kindle account by clicking the 'no rush' service (which as I say is all I can get anyway) ..

So this free trial , is costing them! as they are actually paying me to have Prime.. ( esp as I am ordering each item on a seperate order .. to get my £1 !!) Cool..
