Camera/video camera recommendation for a techy 9yo?

DD is very techy already and wants a camera for Christmas - ideally it would be good at recording videos, as that is predominantly what she's in to. With sound, of course.

I don't want to spend a fortune as she will likely drop it at some point.

Her kiddie zoom action cam has been largely unused so I think it would need to be a proper one.

What kind of videos? A GoPro if she's filming action perhaps?

The videos tend to be more of the selfie variety - her doing gymnastics/make up tutorials/generally trying to be a teenager.
