Hi
Dd is 13 and would like a guitar for Christmas. I've looked on amazon but not sure which would be suitable.

Any suggestions most welcome!

The Yamaha f310 is brilliant. I changed the strings to all metal (local guitar shop) and was delighted with it then.

Really easy to play and great quality

Gear 4music do a great basic guitar for £49 I think, narrow neck so the strings aren't too far apart. My nephew had one as his first guitar. Good customer service too.

Worth buying him a capo and a battery operated tuner. Also argos sell wall clamps that prevent the guitar being bashed about.

I hope he enjoys his present !

Can your son play guitar? Nylon strings are kinder to beginners' fingers. If you get a guitar with steel strings it will hurt. My son has this guitar and it has a nice tone.

Ds' first guitar was a Valencia. It was an ok guitar, but not as nice to play as the tanglewood discovery. Often you can get second hand guitar off eBay with very little wear.

Thanks for the tips. Capo and battery tuner sound good too. No, dd can't play but can read music. Wants to learn though.
