Daddy 1st christmas

This year me and my OH have said we won't buy gifts for one another because we would ratger use the money for a night out without LO around Christmas. However, i still need to get him something from our daughter and as it's his first Christmas as daddy i wanted it to be unique and something he would want to keep. I am on a budget of about £50 max as i have 5 nieces and nephews to buy for as well as other family members.

I have seen many photo frames and i have considered them as a last resort for his desk at work.
If anyone has any suggestions i would be very grateful.

Is he going to spend £50 on a gift to you from her? Just checking, because you could be disappointed if he assumes no gifts means no gifts.
Also to be honest I'd be confused if I were him especially if ou spend £50 on a keepsake. Maybe a tenner would be ok.

He is getting me a gift from her I've already dropped many obvious hints about a Pandora charm i like. I am more than happy just to spend a tenner i just meant that £50 was the absolute most i was willing to spend

How about a personalised keyring with your child's handprint. Or cufflinks?

Lovely suggestions but he doesnt wear cufflinks and i brought him a personalised keyring when she was born. Knew i should have waited!

My husband has his mug at work which he loves with a photo of baby!£5 off moonlight!

Does he have a desk (lots of places hot desk). Are photos of family the norm (they are not everywhere).

Think about it as a gift for him as a man- not as a dad. Is he the type who would like a unique gift to keep? Are you sure that a photo frame is something that he would want to spend £50 on ?

Gifts from children are often cheap and cheerful as they buy them themselves (not babies obviously).

If you want something unique and cheap then lots of people make baby handprint pictures- google them. So for a hedgehog you print the hands overlapping with brown paint and felt tip in eyes. Stick in a cheap a frame- unique and less than £5 . Google hedgehog handprints

Something I did for my DH for his first Christmas as a dad was to give him a bottle of whiskey with a note saying that the bottle is to be kept until DS 18th Birthday when it can be opened for them to have a drink together. Can't remember exactly what the note said now but plenty of inspiration online. I did the same thing a couple years later from DD as well.

What about a photo book with pics of the two of them from the last year? If you're feeling especially creative you could set it out like a story book and then they can read it together...

If you're anything like me there'll be eleventy billion pics of them for every one of you!

You could take five nice pics of baby holding the letters 'daddy' and put them in a.frame.
