Good Harry Potter stuff

What are the best things you've bought? I'll get the Illustrated Chamber of Secrets to go with the Philosophers Stone that DD already has. She has a wand. I'm going to buy a cauldron from a witchcraft shop. She'd like Quidditch robes. Are they as bad quality as they look? Any other good buys?

Running Press do little Harry Potter kits which are nice, we have the snitch one and the time turner one.

A Chocolate Frog and some Bertie Botts beans?

Shocked - The shop is good but try to get there early, because it gets fiendishly busy. Some of it is expensive but they also have v reasonably priced items. The pin badges are lovely, and only about a fiver, for example.

Blueisthemagicnumber · 30/10/2016 11:02

Shocked just back from seeing The Cursed Child myself, and there is a shop where you can buy pencils, lanyards and other merchandise at the theatre.

It is amazing.

Kirriemuir · 30/10/2016 11:46

Primark have lots of good HP pyjamas and clothing.

shockedballoon · 30/10/2016 14:43

Thanks for the tips Remus and Blue!

Shemozzle · 30/10/2016 14:46

I bought a cheap snitch necklace from Etsy and then was miffed to find it even cheaper on aliexpress after it arrived. But for the price it looks amazing. I'm also going to get the primark black and white bedding.

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2016 14:49

shemozzle I bought the bedding and just washed it and put it back on its excellent also bought the throw which is just gorgeous !

its so soft

Shemozzle · 30/10/2016 15:02

Oh wow, I haven't seen the throw! In the middle of decorating Harry Potter mad 9 year old dd's room black and white themed so the bedding will be perfect. She loves fluffy blankets and keeps pinching mine.

Went to pick up the bedding last week in local primark and they only had Star Wars. Need to head to the city superstar one ASAP, hope they haven't stopped selling it! When did you get yours?

Boffered1 · 30/10/2016 15:11

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2016 17:26

bout 3 weeks ago

sherbertdibdab · 30/10/2016 17:42

Love this mug. It's the marauders map and changes when hot liquids are put inside.

Sadik · 30/10/2016 17:52

That looks like a good mug, sherbet, thank-you! Am now wondering though whether to wait and see whether Fantastic Beasts becomes the latest obsession (suspect it may) - there's some very nice FB pjs in dd's size.

smellylittleorange · 30/10/2016 21:26

Dd has loads of Harry Potter stuff..Primary is always a winner as it relatively cheap. For when they are a bit older I just bought her a Lochaven lambswool Ravenclaw scarf it is lovely and just like in the film ( who they supplied too) Dd gets teased in y8 for liking Harry Potter so the scarf is a subtle nod to her fandom

Drivingmadness · 01/11/2016 09:11

After having bought 2 chocolate frogs that dd wants for Xmas, I got a groupon offer emailed to me, about a Harry Potter candy offer, which includes 3 frogs, beans, slugs. £15+postage

DramaInPyjamas · 01/11/2016 09:17

I'm the biggest HP fan in our house Grin
I've bought myself Slytherin pjs from Primark, I'm on the lookout for a Slytherin dressing gown,
and bought HP Trivial Pursuit as this years 'family present' which I plan on winning after Christmas Dinner Grin

DramaInPyjamas · 01/11/2016 09:18

Harry Potter Scene It DVD game is a great as well, not sure if it's still in production though.

Shemozzle · 01/11/2016 11:40

I'm hopefully heading over to the big city primark superstore today to get the HP bedding and throw. Is there anything else in there I should look for? I've seen the adult pyjamas but dd is an averaged sized 9 year old. Anything else for her? The shop has about 4 or 5 floors so don't want to traipse round the whole lot with a pushchair and toddler unnecessarily but don't want to miss anything either!

heymammy · 01/11/2016 18:48

Dd1 particularly loves her Platform 9 3/4 poster from here www.allposters.co.uk/-sp/Platform-9-3-4-King-s-Cross-Poster-Print-Posters_i8756880_.htm

It's on her chimney breast wall and looks ace!

AliciaMayEmory · 04/11/2016 09:17

Did you manage to get the Harry Potter bedding, Shemozzel? I want to get some of DD but it wasn't in last week and no release date on the website.

PerspicaciaTick · 04/11/2016 09:24

The script of Fantastic Beasts is published at the end of November.

Tickets to WB studios would be a brilliant treat.

There are lots of little bits like badges and keyrings on eBay.

PerspicaciaTick · 04/11/2016 09:26

And Asda have children's Hogwarts PJs. The Primark ones seem to be mostly adult sized.
