Ds loves taking photos and videos on my phone. He's good at lining them up and has had a go on a digital camera too. But the only children's ones I can find either have gamed on (ehich he'd just spend all his time playing ) or have a 1.something mrgapixel and bad reviews.
Any ideas on a chunky, big butoned, relatively cheap camera? (Asking a lot I know) thank you.

Have you looked at the vtech one. My dn loved hers at that age.

Sorry,it's early lol. I meant vtech kiddizoom.

UniversalTruth · 19/10/2016 09:18

The kiddizoom has games on but you can set a time limit on it in the settings of the camera. Has a lot of fun filters on which my almost 4yo uses more than the games

I've just checked - you can disable the games on the kiddizoom. You have to pass a maths question to get in to parental controls which took me way too long to work out Grin

Don't dismiss the kids cameras, bought them for my four year olds. On a Christmas morning walk, my son dropped the camera onto the pavement then kicked it into the curb and standing on it before managing to pick it up. Worked perfectly fine. They are tough.

vtech kiddizoom, we gave it to 3y2m old when sister was born

RatherBeIndoors · 19/10/2016 11:08

I bought the kiddizom one for LO's 4th Christmas, and disabled the games. 80 billion selfies with and without filters later, it's still going strong and still much enjoyed. Make sure you have plenty of batteries - the ones supplied are described as something like "starter batteries" or some other way of saying they won't last long!

Thank you all so much-completely forgot I'd written this (who needs sleep with a 4 year old and a 5 month old?? :-) )
They are all excellent pieces of information. Kc225 you sum up my son perfectly! Excellent you can disable the games. Will be looking to see if it's on offer anywhere and getting it.
