There's one on Amazon here.
You might be able to get a nicer one from Etsy though.

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 11/09/2016 23:02

slithy this one is £13 in asda

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 11/09/2016 23:03

Lol baldhedgehog... Great minds!!

SitsOnFence · 11/09/2016 23:09

Those mermaidy cushion covers are gorgeous Chips. I'm making DD a bench seat for her room (not for Christmas), and will have to surprise her with one of those on it! Just need to decide on which colour...

Donthate can I ask what monofin your DD has, please? My DD has a depressingly expensive monofin and tail, but her monofin keeps slipping off as she swims. I want to buy her another, but one that stays on this time! Hers looks very much like the junior one on this site

Thanks for the the Asda pug blanket advice confuugled1 I'm passing an Asda next week so have ordered it for collection and still have time to order loads of other pug stuff too Thanks also to whoever recommended the very bargainous Matalan fleece blankets. They'll be perfect for a craft project and cheaper than buying fleece fabric by the meter.

leesmum · 11/09/2016 23:33

My Ds1 will be 12 at Christmas and is having a new tv, super dry hoodie, PlayStation top up card, Game voucher and lots and lots of Lynx sprays!!!

Ds2 will be nearly 9 at Christmas and is getting iPad, you tube heroes figures, Dantdm t-shirt, Pokémon game and Minecraft Lego

Donthate · 11/09/2016 23:55

sitsonfence I wouldn't recommend dd's for swimming, she did swim in it but only because the tail kept it in place I think. They came as a package and it looks very similar to yours but is called an Aquafin. I'm sure there are better ones out there but they will be expensive.

BWatchWatcher · 12/09/2016 00:09

Careful of the mermaid tail/aquafin/. I've seem videos where they can cause drowning and be dangerous.

torthecatlady · 12/09/2016 00:10

At the works they have two flamingo items!

A flamingo notebook and a flamingo 2017 diary, both only £2 each (there's always discount codes floating around for the works too, plus they are on topcashback)

Sorry more of an everyday dress than the costume I mean!
Maybe it'll have to be fabric and a diy job

glenthebattleostrich · 12/09/2016 06:04

Raining, there are loads on not on the high street starting at about five pounds.

ExAstris · 12/09/2016 06:45

Anyone else having trouble with the Toucan box site? I get all the way through payment etc then at the final confirm button it tells me "Internal server error".

Re mermaid tails. My daughter went to a supervised class to swim with one. They had to be at least 7/8 and a strong swimmer with knowledge of butterfly. Having seen it they are not easy to swim in at first and I definitely wouldn't just give one to a child. She was exhausted by the end!

RaeSkywalker · 12/09/2016 07:13

Thank you Thomas and itsonly for the great ideas! I'll show them to DH later Smile

Donthate · 12/09/2016 07:20

Total agree on the mermaid tails not for swimming. Dd is a strong swimmer but she only wears hers in the shallows.

SitsOnFence · 12/09/2016 07:45

Thanks for the monofin advice Donthate, BWatchWatcher and everyone else. I should probably clarify by saying that DD is 6 and only 'swims' on my back, or sitting in the shallow end and flippity-flapping it. Only ever with 1-1 adult supervision as I had heard how dangerous they can be! Looks like not staying on is a generic problem with them. We have partially solved it by getting DD to wear her neoprene 'surf shoes' then ramming them in, but not ideal.
