I was hoping we could overcome the problem of which set of parents to see at Christmas by booking a 4 bed lodge at Sherwood Forest over Christmas. Has anyone been? Is it festive? Can you cook a proper

Haven't been over Christmas but the 4 bed chalet we had was big enough to cook a full on Christmas dinner.

IIRC the kitchen was relatively well equipped so you should be fine in that regard.

It seems expensive for just 4 nights so I want it to be a good experience at least

I've replied to you on your thread in Chat - I didn't see this one.

I went last year , it was amazing . I made a lasagne on Christmas Day and we hired a cabana in the swimming pool . Lovely walks and lots of twinkling lights , fab fireworks on Boxing Day .

We went last Christmas to avoid the same sort of issues! Had a fantastic time and going back again this year but to a different one! Didn't cook a Christmas dinner they did leave you a foil turkey trail and lots of people did cook ( smelt delicious walking around!!) very festive everywhere. We also had a cabana at the pool on Christmas Day and we will hire again this year! Expensive but worth it for us! Just make sure you book all your meals ect as very busy and lots of people couldn't get in the resturants where that hadn't booked! Have fun

Thank you so much. I feel so much better about it now and have decided to book the exclusive 4 bedroom villa. Hopefully this will solve many problems and make it easier all round
