Glass jar present ideas

My lovely neighbour has just brought round 10 x 440g glass jars, all cleaned out with the labels removed and lids. She asked if I could find a use for them so naturally, my first thought was - Christmas presents!!

So what kind of things could I put in them? Was thinking teachers gifts?

As well as the usual jams, lemon curd etc

(I've done all of the above as Christmas presents, am always on the lookout for homemade Christmas ideas)

Make a batch of mincemeat now that will be really nicely matured for Christmas.

Dry herbs over the summer from your own garden, perhaps put into the jars as "bouquet garni" mixes tied in muslin squares?

Make up muslin squares with the spices for homemade mulled wine - buy them in an Asian supermarket in bulk (cinnamon sticks, star anise, cardamom pods, black peppercorns etc). Perhaps if feeling utterly "poncetastic", you could, at some stage, dry some orange peel yourself to include.

Or make some pot pourri using flowers dried from your own garden over the summer.

Or sun dried tomatoes, whether from the garden or a lovely local producer in the summer gluts, that you have dried yourself and preserved in some olive oil.

And the cookie/brownie mixes are always lovely too.

Fab, think I'm more of a cookie biscuitty person and I'd love to receive something like that so I might go that way, but will definitely bear the others in mind for those that haven't got a sweet tooth.

I was thinking along the lines of maybe a manicure jar, nail polish, mini nail file, mini hand cream etc?
Think I'll suit it to their personalities nearer the time.

Oooh, mini pamper session in a jar sounds great!

Could be a mini crafting kit for someone into a particular craft either. Nice buttons, coloured thread, ribbons, printed papers in a swirl, tags, little scissors, some "made with love" or similar tags to sew onto articles, nice pins, knitting row markers or stitch markers, crochet hooks....depending on what they are into, could get lots of lovely things.

I am in a daft, please keep me away from work, and horrenduously sleep deprived state today, and may regret the twee-ness of my posts tomorrow! !!

Emergency jar - coloured paper clips, emergency sewing kit, trolley token, small notepad and pencil, sheet of gold stars.....especially if a teacher etc.

Think I need another coffee...

Coffee lovers though, may like some nice beans or a few nespresso pods (if you know what they drink), some sugar crystals on a stick stirrers, and some nice chocs or nuts etc to nibble.

Make a tube from card and put it in the middle with a fiver in and then around the outside of the card film had with jelly beans or smarties so the recipient thinks it's a jar just if sweets but there's hidden money 😊

Great for nieces/nephews, to cousins from the kids and not very expensive (unless you go for a tenner or twenty!)

I seen these on a Facebook post a few weeks ago and had to save it so I wouldn't forget.
There was a handcream a lip balm face mask sachet nail Polish file remover wipes etc
All wee bits that can be picked up for around £1 and gathered through the year.

Nice tissue paper and it will be a fantastic gift

If you've got lots of children to buy for then you could buy a few big bags of certain craft supplies like pom-poms, stickers, small pencils etc and split them between the jars?

Make a mini garden at the bottom, place a wee fairy (I have no idea where from, but the idea sounds great!) in the bottom and tie some fabric round the top with pretty ribbon.

For kids I would put a fiver in it in small change mixed with sweets. What's not to like!
