Ta Noddy, I really bloody need it! Don't feel like cooking tonight or doing anything much. Dh has gone to get ds's hair cut and I've told him to tell the barber that if he cuts it too short that his mum will be back to stab him with the scissors!
I'm afraid they might cut all his curls off!

Mercy · 22/12/2006 16:42

Have just joined you

JodieG1 · 22/12/2006 16:45

I really fancy a bailey's but am 37 weeks pregnant on Sunday so no alcohol for me. I do have some in the fridge for after baby is born though and will allow myself a small glass or 2

Quootiepie · 22/12/2006 16:47

Why do people think drinking should only be for evening time?

Mercy · 22/12/2006 16:50

Jodie, you could have a couple of glasses of wine over Christmas surely?

I tried having a celebratory drink after dd was born - it tasted like petrol to me!

brimfull · 22/12/2006 16:53

children making gingerbread men and a huge mess..don't give a stuff

becs21 · 22/12/2006 17:01

JodieG1 · 22/12/2006 17:01

Mercy I could do but I prefer not to drink any alcohol when pregnant. Not much longer to go now anyway and I managed 2 other pregnancies the same . It will taste all the better when I don't feel guilty about it hehe.

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 22/12/2006 17:03

God I am so tempted - why did I see this thread!

Might need to do a supermarket run later so can't. Last year was pg, so couldn't drink but didn't really miss it.

Fair enough Jodie!

becs, if you want to I can't see any reason why not. My first child is only 5.9 and when I was expecting her, the recommendation was 1 or 2 units, once or twice a week. My BIL (a senior Dr) backed this up an reckons that healthy eating is more important than a few glasses of wine per week. No spirits btw.

becs21 · 22/12/2006 17:17

hey thanks for the advice i could do with a glass of wine

JodieG1 · 22/12/2006 17:17

I've read a lot of recent research on drinking during pregnancy and so I avoid it. Basically they can't tell how it will affect the baby or what amount will have an effect or (as they think is the case) if small amounts have a lesser, but actual, effect. Just rather not take the risk personally.

bonkerz · 22/12/2006 17:18

drinking here too! am off out tonight so am on my 3rd malibu and coke!!!

angie17 · 22/12/2006 17:30

thought I would just add that I have been out for a late lunch/early tea and had two large glasses of wine feel great though!!

expatinscotland · 22/12/2006 17:40

i'm sipping Lidl brand Bailey's. Mmmmmm.

becs21 · 22/12/2006 17:40

i dont agree with drinking in excess getting pissed is just wrong and 3 malibu and cokes that is not good for the baby in my opinion

expatinscotland · 22/12/2006 17:42

Well then thank fuck I'm not pregnant .

becs21 · 22/12/2006 17:44

Oh, NO! Txtspk!

charliecat · 22/12/2006 17:49

Expat, how much is lidls type baileys and is it nice?
Tescos version is very watery....

expatinscotland · 22/12/2006 17:50

I like it better than the real thing, charlie. It's not watery at all! And only about a fiver a bottle.
