You can't go wrong with food or booze.

Oxfam unwrapped?? Give him an Alpaca or something!

choosyfloosy · 20/12/2006 13:58

Shortbread. In a tartan tin.

Or a framed print of that amazing pic of Findhorn.

Or what about membership of the Whitechapel Art Gallery? but it seems to be £40 pa which would be a bit much for an in law to me

White for a gift? Villa Maria Riesling. It's only £8 or so a bottle (maybe less, can't remember) so buy him three bottles for 2 at Thresher and another three for yourselves.

choosyfloosy · 20/12/2006 13:59

Sorry, the one you've posted on the truly beautiful places thread. Mindboggling.

moondog · 20/12/2006 14:00

Condrieu

£25

Very rare but they have it in the dreaded Tesco's at present.

I have one for Christmas lunch in my fridge

choosyfloosy · 20/12/2006 14:01

Oh, dessert wine. Ah! My extremely twittish, slightly meejah ish and gadgety first husbadn (not really very cool though) used to buy the only red dessert wine there is - it was a Californian one - try googling it. Really, really delicious and quite unusual IMO.

I live near Findhorn, well, it is lovely

paulaplumpbottom · 20/12/2006 14:11

Try Berry Brothers online, they are taking Christmas orders up to today by telephone.

Mr Jones rules for the modern man I've got it for my BIL

singsalot · 20/12/2006 14:21

it must've been great being on that beach for all those summers, I lived in Hopeman for a wee while the beach there was great, pity about the water temp

Do any "locals" live in the findhorn place? thought it was only for wealthy incomers? I keep telling dh I wouldn't mind one of the gorgeous eco houses that are being built there now, in my dreams,,,,

moondog · 20/12/2006 14:23

No,of course it doesn't say bloody Tesco on the label!

It's in the posh bit.

I only mention Tesco's as it's the only place in this country I've seen it sold.
Mind you,I live in the sticks too.
