What about buying a really nice Christmas card and writing her a letter/note in it telling her who much you appreciate what she has done for you?

What about collecting some holly and ivy etc and making some sort of arrangement with it. You could do an advent wreath or get a small round bit of oasis and put a candle in the middle with the holly and ivy arranged around the outside.

Or you could do a sort of collage of family photos. Either put your favourites from the years in an album or put them altogether in a frame.

You could do her an album including photographs, a thankyou letter, recipes for childhood favourite meals, maybe some favourite poems etc. That, along with a bunch of flowers or bottle of wine would be a thoughtful gift.
