As we are out xmas morning I don't want to leave the oven on so am thinking we should have a festive light lunch that I can get ready early that morning and then have the turkey roast as the evening meal.
We are two adults and two young doc with boring palates. I was thinking of smoked salmon blinis for starters, cams pud for afters buy what for main course ?

A three course lunch is not light when you're having dinner on the night, and too much work as well. Meat, cheese, bread, salad just to tide you over

Idea was to have the xmas pud at light lunch to balance out lightness of lunch and to be festive and also we never manage pud after turkey. It's not just us we have a guest so I would like to have some kind of main course

Surely you won't have a three course lunch plus cook a while turkey roast in the evening?

A turkey doesn't take that long to cook really? What, 2 hrs?

I will be out in the morning so can't leave turkey in oven

No but just put turkey on when home at midday and eat at 2pm?
