i leave it in the box but i like putting things together!

foxtrottothefestivegrotto · 14/12/2006 17:06

get ready, cover with sheet or keep door shut.
i have same dilemma with train set this year. and playmobil must always be assemble beforehand and NEVER fits back in the box!

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 14/12/2006 17:08

id jsut stick bows and ribbons on it.

I have bought the blue/green equivalent of that keyboard for ds1, biglips

We are going to set it up ready for use, then make a sort of cover-all "hat" out of wrapping paper and put it over it. Ditto the drum kit we've bought ds2.

Ooooooooh

last year my boys both had new bikes for xmas. we put them up ready and put big bows and ribbons on them

deaconblue · 14/12/2006 18:15

I reckon get it ready before as these things seem to be impossible to get into nowadays.

Leslaki · 14/12/2006 18:18

either put it up and wrap it or do what my friend did with bikes last eyar - she wrapped up little pressies which had string tied to them and the kids had to follow the string to the dining room where 2 shiny new bikes sat waiting!

We usually assemble before Xmas as we have learned the hard way...

foxtrottothefestivegrotto · 14/12/2006 18:19

or be well armed with scissors, batteries, two different types of screwdriver and infinite patience to deal with clamouring kids.

righto

ive decided to do the sensible thing as just been invited to a Xmas dinner on Xmas eve...

For us this depends on what it is. Last year main present, from FC, was a pram and doll - so it was al out with a big bow on it. This year it is a camera, so will be wrapped in it's box.
