Ok, I am not delia but here goes, start with cake, I put mine on grease proof paper (only the 2nd one I have iced mind you)

Get icing together, I used ready to roll. Put icing suger down to roll it on, roll icing out

Paint with apricot jam so icing sticks

place icing carefully, DH showed me a good trick of rolling the icing onto the rolling pin

Anyway, getting back to the hands, they are DH who was laughing at me taking photos, but came out with the fabby tip of rolling the icing onto the pin before placing over the cake - I was most impressed as he is a hairy arsed builder
