Mulled stuff

So I used to have off by heart a brilliant and simple mulled wine recipe. It was so great that I could adapt it for cider and even non-alcoholic wine, but .... I've forgotten it. I've searched all my files, and places I might have got it from, but to no avail. I love a bit of mulled wine or cider at Christmas, and we often have a 'mulled wine & mince pies' thing on Christmas eve for the neighbours, so I'm getting a bot desperate. Can I ask for your idiot-proof mulled wine/cider/anything recipes please?

1 bottle red wine
300ml water
175g caster sugar
1 cinnamon stick
3 strips lemon peel
Bring up to boil. Turn off. Leave to infuse 10mins. Serve with lemon slices.
My old recipe- always compliments.

Thanks kittyvet - that looks straightforward. The one I used to do had 1/2 litre of (I think) of orange juice in it? Does anyone have one that uses OJ?

Use 200/300ml of OJ instead of the water in Kittyvet's recipe.
Taste - and then add either more OJ or some water.

Mine always turns out nice but I don't use a recipe. I don't put water in it as far as I can remember. I put mixed spice in mine too.

Thankyou both. Seasonal frustration and social shame avoided. Grin Flowers
