Can anyone recommend anything nice? Dont want anything sweet like Schloer, more like champagne but without the alcohol.

Can you order from somewhere like here? www.deliciousdrinksshop.co.uk/nonalcoholicwines/nonalcoholicsparklingwines

Sainsburys non alcohol sparkling wine is the most wine like one I've found, its quite sharp and refreshing and only £2.50 a bottle which isn't bad.

I saw some fizzy apple juice in Aldi on Saturday. It was in a bubbly looking bottle, the gold foil on top and everything. Can't tell you what it tastes like though!

"Saudi Champagne" is peach juice and sparkling water, which is quite nice.

A friend bought me this one when I was pregnant. It's from Sainsbury's and it was lovely.

Ooh nice. I don't drink alcohol but these look nice.
I used to buy something called (spelling might be ropey) Petillant de Listel Nice, slightly yeasty, not sharp.

Titsywoo · 23/11/2015 19:48

Yes I agree with the Sainsburys one. I had a year off booze last year and I was happy drinking that when meeting up with friends :)

nightandthelight · 23/11/2015 20:05

Aldi have loads of non-alcoholic stuff in at the mo :)

thunderbird69 · 25/11/2015 09:12

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll check out the Sainsburys one, it looks promising Smile

What are they like in comparison with alcohol calories?

mumblebumble · 25/11/2015 15:05

Fell I think the sainsburys one is lower calorie than normal wine, as its not too sugary.

I'm possibly missing the point, but if you don't mind making it yourself, we make virgin mojitos and serve them in champagne glasses when we're being healthy. Ice, 1/2 sparkling water, 1/2 lemonade (old fashioned lemonade ideally), healthy squeeze of fresh lime, lots of mint leaves, muddle with a chopstick or whatever is around Really refreshing and nice, you can make it as tart or as sweet as you like.
The Sainsbury's stuff is bearable, but it still has that 'not alcoholic' flavour that all non alcoholic drinks have.

thunderbird69 · 26/11/2015 10:38

Thanks oranges they sound good! What type of mint leaves do you need for this?

Fizzy water and elder flower or ginger cordial are nice with a twist of lime.

Orangesarenot · 26/11/2015 20:35

thunderbird we just get ordinary mint plants from a supermarket - they are usually 2 for £2.50 so we can go crazy with the mint. If there's any left over I use it for mint tea.

Schweppes do a new elderflower tonic that is nice too.

jeanmiguelfangio · 26/11/2015 22:41

I dont drink so have had a whole host of non-alcholic options. My favourite is pear non alcohol kopperburg, its fab!! I also love M&s fizzy apple, pear, grape all sorts of options. In the bit with the soft drinks, 3 for £5. Proper cork and everything.

Alcohol Free Shop.

Wines, beers, cocktails and spirits.

Wines & beers are generally de alcoholised. The wines used are good wines, as cheap wines without alcohol aren't great, so cost a bit more than you can get in budget places.

The mocktails & fake spirits are that, fake, but pretty good.
